    Re: American Horror Story: Apocalypse

My working theory is that Mallory is not a Supreme, either. I think she is an entity like the antichrist, but a repairer, not a destroyer. I think the show is setting up a biblical fight, of which the witches are on the good side.

Should probably read revelations, because I have to believe that Ryan Murphy will be drawing from it to create his end of times brawl.

It is getting kind of crazy, as we are what three or four episodes into a flashback that often has flashbacks within it. But the roundabout way of telling the story has worked, giving the Apocalypse full stakes by executing it first, and showing the fall out, before going back and showing how we got here. I don't think a linear telling would have the same impact.

Liked the finale, but really feel like if they had at least one or two more episodes, it would have finished up a little stronger. But I liked how it all played out.

      Spoiler

I would have liked to have seen some other outposts or the bunker Langdon claimed he was taking them, too. But in the end, Langdon probably never had any intention of saving some of the 1%'s that got into the outposts. He was probably enjoying the fact that he could travel to each one and wipe out another chunk of what is left of humanity.

I'll put this season as my third favorite. Maybe second. Murder house is still the ultimate season, and Coven was my second favorite. But this really felt like a proper sequel to Coven, so I don't know if it was better or worse.

This season did convince me to go back and watch Hotel, one of the seasons I skipped (Freakshow being the other).

I really enjoyed this season. I've seen episodes of the Hotel season, watched the complete Cult season and this Apocalypse season and this was an excellent season. I didn't expect the entire run to be flashbacks though. I expected the Flashbacks to end halfway through and for the remainder of the show to be a big brawl between the witches and the antichrist.

The season somewhat through me off because of those two characters they introduced the first episode. Nothing happening to them, they seem like the odd characters out.

I loved it. After not really liking the last 2 or 3. Flashbacks told the story nicely and having flashbacks inside if flashbacks made me have to really pay attention to keep up.

And I agree, it seems like a well done Coven sequel.

The ending is what did it for me. How the antichrist said it was all inevitable. No matter how many times Mallory goes back, it won't matter

          Very nice season

The younger guy and girl who were taken from their families because they were 'special'. Or however they worded it. The white guy and black girl

                Re: American Horror Story: Apocalypse

Well, they were killed in the Outpost in the main timeline. and then, in the last episode they meet and fall in love, only to later have their child become the next antichrist.

That does seem to be a pothole, but I think it represents the fact that once the antichrist has been summoned, via the conception from a spirit and and human, it's a done deal. Satan might have even set this up, since I assume he, like God, is omnipotent, so he already knew the outcome of Michael's reign as the antichrist and set-up those two to be the perfect parents of the next one.

I'm wondering if we are to assume that the tech dweebs that started the apocalypse were the hairdresser and boyfriend of Coco, as part of Myrtle's cruel joke on them to get coco and Mallory into the bunker. Or were they just other characters played by the same actors?

That was pretty much the only question I had. Was about the nerds. My assumption was actors playing different characters. Only way it made sense to me

Overall I enjoyed this season. The cross over/continuation of Season 1 and 3 was amazing. The season did lose some steam as we got down to the last few episodes. The finale had some underwhelming parts including the use of the range rover (which I lol'd at but still could've been better).

Good to see Jessica Lange again and Cody Fern did an outstanding job as Michael Langdon. The season ranks relatively high for me. My season rankings: 3,2,1,8,7,5,6,4.
