Sounds like they will, but they’ve said it will be an anthology meaning a new family.

These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.

Surprisingly, there are still a lot of elements from the book that could be covered, but I would be content with them leaving it at one season.

Here's an interesting article talking about Episode Six and it's use of long-takes.

In the end, the five unbroken shots comprised 51 minutes of the episode’s 53-minute runtime. “Production was a murder and almost killed us all,” Flanagan writes. “But it was the easiest edit of my life. Took 10 seconds.”

You can read Flanagan’s full, detailed thread here, which gives plenty of insight into this amazing technical feat.

I said the same thing about Stranger Things and Ozark.
Then liked season 2 of both shows better.
Pretty sure another season will happen.

6 episodes in and meh. Too family melodramaish for me, but I'll keep watching to the end.

That's the whole foundation of the series. I'd say if you're not enjoying it now you won't by the end.

Of course I understand the importance of the family backstory; it's...just not doing that much for me. You yourself conceded it resembles a sappy drama at times and I agree with that.

Maybe there's a satisfying payoff at the end that will make watching it through the end worthwhile, but based on what you're telling me, I guess not.

Finished it last night.. I would not describe it as a sappy family drama at all! lol
Such a great show, so many little things that many people miss. You really have to understand what is going on in each scene and how it is affecting them in their later lifes.

I didn't mean that as a slight towards you only as a warning of sorts. If you're not invested in the family dynamics and their "drama" (I'm more inclined to use mental health problems) then I doubt the resolution and climax will resonate with you.

I may have exaggerated slightly with the sappy drama remark. It wasn't until the resolution and final scenes that that impression crept in. Previously it is anything but sappy. Overly dramatic, yes, but sappy was definitely not in the tone of the show until the end.

You couldn't be more right, you must be invested in the family drama.
A lot of my friends have told me they could not get into this show because they thought the family drama was boring.
I thought it was great and like you said, it all comes together.

Keep a constant eye on the background! Buzzfeed has a great article highlighting all the hidden ghosts throughout the series and the director has already said there are tons more.

No kidding, I had to hit pause and recover, not really sure I could go on. Funny thing I didn't know I even reacted to it. Yes, probably the best ever!!!
