That's the point. Earlier you're voted out, more opportunities you have. So you get rewarded for getting voted out earlier.

We could have both EoE seasons where the winner is someone who was one of the first 3 boots.

And let's not forget the hated Redemption Island twist, if Ozzy made the end he would've won his season.

That doesn't mean you will automatically perform though. Amber was voted out second and she hasn't done anything. Perhaps it's the fact that Natalie was voted out first, combined with the fact that she is a fitness machine that has propelled her to have so many fire tokens.

I compare it to going on an immunity run.

When everyone getting voted out is old except her, it wasn't that hard for her to win in the beginning.

Not sure why they needed 2 hours for that. They could have done it just over 1 hour.

This is nowhere near an "immunity run". While she's over there piling up tokens to buy advantages she's also not having to worry about playing the actual game, paranoia over being voted out, building alliances while worrying about getting blindsided, winning too frequently and being targeted as a physical threat etc. Furthermore its a complete disadvantage for people like Jeremy who had no chance to get any tokens on the island and now have zero advantages going into the one and only challenge they'll have to try and get back into the game.

I get why they have it this season, so all the fan favorites have a shot at getting back in the game and anyone watching for a few specific players will hang around in hopes they do just that, but I really hope this is the last we see of this edge garbage.

Re: Survivor 40: Winners at War

EoE was nice to have in the sense we still have everyone around in some way, especially the jury (although how weird is it that there is likely people voting on the jury who were never even on the same tribe as one or more of the finalists.). But like BvW, it only works with returnees.

Twist like this means little with all newbies.

I know Survivor wants to change things up to try keeping people interested with gimmicks, but you're also getting some less interested by having gimmicks.

A true old school season would've been more interesting to see under this cast. All different styles have won over the years, but let's see who is better at the original Survivor, when its literally only about Outwit, Outplay, Outlast.

I wouldn't mind a Winners at War 2 in the future with as many of this cast as they can get back (names like Amber,Ethan,Yul,Danni I doubt return again), and do it under a different format. We saw these winners go up in an idol and twist filled season, let's see them do it with none of that.

Given the circumstance that Natalie has been given, under the parameters of the season, she's kicking ***, I'm not a fan of the EoE stuff, but that's what the season is. No clue how this plays out, but there are a lot of players on EoE that can't do ****, including my personal favorite Rob, hell the queen herself bowed out. It's two different games on two different locations, they can only play their game based on what is available to play

I'm cool with that, too, an old school season without gimmicks and simply "outwit, outplay, outlast" without a million twists would be awesome, but it'll never happen

She does have to worry about the actual game. Like it or not, they are affecting the game over on EoE and have drastically turned it on its head.

EoE is more of the old school game. Little food and not much to do. Having all of the older players there, gave her the advantage. She didn't have to worry about starving because she has enough mass to consume, but she isn't overweight and is in good shape. She could easily outlast any of them in a physical challenge and she has enough energy to explore.

If the younger people go first, I doubt she wins as much.

How is that exactly? Her effecting the game with things like extorting someone for tokens, anonymously at that, does not mean she actually has to worry about what's going on with the players still in the game and just needs to stack ad many tokens as she can to buy advantages and idols with.

The day before the finale, they finally released the intro.

Cant believe this season is almost over. Sucks how most of it was during these shutdowns so it felt so diff watching knowing these were all basically just distractions from outside world.

Hate how we missed out on so many interactions and/or reunions. It's like watching an all star game but the people you wanted to see go one on one didnt even step on the court at the same time.
