All of the shows have appeared to be low budget offerings that have focused more on character development than superhero shows. The first episode was all about Loki changing some to do good and realizing he has to fail over and over to make the heros great. Unfortunately the story is the same they have been doing for a while now. Hopefully it gets better or it will end up like the others.

I happened to like the others. The first episode was a yawn it appears as if it will get better if the commercials on TV are any indication. Could live without Owen Wilson.

If you don't like them that's whatever, but the shows were not low budget. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a 150 million dollar budget, WandaVision was 200 mil. They may not be making the kind of show you want to see, but they are not skimping on the budget. Hopefully Loki will end up like the others, because they were great.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

They're basically extremely long movies, in budget, casting and quality. Also I hope Loki is just as 'bad' as the prior shows - which were critically acclaimed and added significantly to the current phase of the MCU.

I’m a huge Marvel fan like the rest of y’all…but I also thought the 1st episode was just meh. Which I get, because it’s the first one so I wasn’t expecting greatness from the jump.

If it’s another one of those shows where it picks up over time, then of course I’ll love it. Most of my all time favorite shows were like that. But judging this 1st episode…yeah, I wasn’t crazy about it.

Not saying I don't like it, just that it is a superhero show with little superhero stuff and more character development. I think what hurts it the most is the low number of episodes. By the time they are done with the character and story development, they are out of time for the action.

Even with lager budgets, it's not that evident in the output as the action is limited because they have limited time. It just seems low budget or a short movie broken up and expanded with some more dialog to fill 6 episodes.

I feel like that's what Marvel is going for though. They now have the time to put these character development stories together. Something they would never have time to do with the regular movies. So you get all the backstory arc's, in-between arc's, and some new arc's from these to further set up the main blockbuster movies. Making it an even deeper universe then before.

Agreed, just wish it was more than 6 or so episodes because by the time they get the story going its over and we are left waiting for a long time.

I agree with this to a degree. These series' fly by fast, but they're also setting up for so many movies that will continue the stories. I'll have to wait and see how the movies tie-in with these shows to get a good understanding of this process.

That said, I've loved every episode of all of the shows so far.

The thing is they're putting money into these shows, but even with their deep pocketbooks they don't want to spend 300-350 million on these shows. They could have more episodes, but then there would be even less action and more character stuff than what is there now because they will want to reduce the cost of each episode to keep that budget at 250 mill or less.

I agree with your take about the set up for the movies, and loving all the episodes. Everything they're doing is about the long game.

They really amped up the story in this episode.

                            Pretty intense at the end.

2nd episode of Loki definitely better than the first.

Who knows where it goes next.

I liked the first episode more but I thought both of them where good. This show is better than falcon and the winter solider and Wanda vision. Mandaloran is still the best Disney+ original show though.
