    Re: Disney+

Anyone else suddenly getting an error message stating Disney+ is temporarily unavailable for 2016 model Samsung TV's? I have the KS8000 and hadn't looked on Disney+ since The Mandalorian ended but apparently the app is inaccessible now.

Wouldn't be surprised if its incompatible.

That's what they do with TVs to try getting people to upgrade. Same happens with phones too.

My tv has been incompatible with basically every app that it originally had (though to be fair, when I got my current TV, smartphone apps weren't even as big), but that's not gonna make me want a new one. My phone can still stream to my TV anyways.

It says they're working on it but that could all be lip service and it just never gets remedied. It certainly won't make me buy a new TV, haven't even used it since Mandalorian ended so nothing pressing content wise that I can't live without. I'd rather it work but I can always use the PS4 to access it if I absolutely need too.

I have that same tv i will check later. I have mostly been using the ps4 app for disney+ and not had much issue with it working. I have not been able to get HDR and 4k though sense day 1. I have tried the app threw the tv and same thing no HDR and no 4k only get 1080p.

TVs often drop support for apps. That’s why it’s better to use a separate streaming app.

Something I never realized about the last jedi, and maybe others too? In addition to the audio commentary versions, they have a "score only" version. That is, the entire movie but with no lines, only the background music with the volume turned up.

I never realized this was something people wanted. I guess they wanted more than just listening to the soundtrack?

Ended up canceling this week. Just not using it enough once I did the Mandolorian, run through of Star Wars, and my son moved on to other shows other than Mickey.

My wife wants to try Peacock so that’s the trade off. When the new Mandolorian is out (this fall or delayed?), I’ll be back for a month at least.

Peacock isn't free, correct? My mom keeps asking me about this because she's somehow convinced it's free (I think from coworkers). I haven't been on an app or anything to try it and I'm sure there is a free trial of sorts, but as far as I'm concerned it's a subscription streaming service just like any other one. That is, unless there is a limited access version.

Disney plus for adults is good really only for the movies they have. I'm sure during a time like this everyone has seen everything they've wanted to.

I'm sure this time next year there will be way more reasons to subscribe.

Peacock's own TV ad says it is free. I don't know if this is true or if they mean "free for whoever already pays for NBC" but their ad says it is free

Peacock has 3 tiers: free with ads (5 mins per hour), paid with ads for $5, and paid with no ads for $10.

                          Free has a limited library.

In the age of peak streaming, competitive advantages are necessary. For NBCUniversal’s new platform, it’s the archive and the price point.

The Ringer broke it down pretty well, including hours of content per tier. I read that like a week ago, but I believe it didn’t mention that Peacock higher tiers may be free to existing Comcast and Cox cable subscribers, since they own NBC. I think it puts them on the paid but with ads tier, without the $5 monthly fee of course.

Not sure what time you where able to start watching but I did watch the Mandalorian last night and I also made a watch list last night of a lot of older cartoons I grew up with but have not seen in a long time like ducktails, mighty ducks, tail spin etc. There are also stuff I grew up on that was under fox that is now on hear sense Disney now owns fox like the 90's Spiderman cartoon. I am looking forward to like living my child hood over again. With how much Disney has done over the years there is a lot to watch and for only $7 a month its pretty darn good. I known there are some bugs right now but I guess for day 1 that is not a surprise. Any one else using Disney+?
