Re: OS Official Horror Movie Thread

Someone on a horror forum I'm apart of has a thing going where people try to watch the most horror movies throughout the month of October.
    Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).

The end was ok.......I wish they would have been a tad more in depth about it....but overall a very solid supernatural horror film. I enjoyed it a lot.

I will watch again. I am sure there are little tidbits I will pick up with each watch.

Hey if you watch it again, pay attention to the noise in the movie, I think I read that in this movie they use certain tones of bass and very low bass to give a feeling of general unease and it's something that builds.

The movie is fantastic, absolute mayhem, but I do wonder how much subliminally the soundtrack enhances the movie, not to take anything away from it, far from it, if that is a driver of fear then maybe more horror movies should integrate it.

The other movie that it reminds me of in tone is The Shining. A slow, creeping sense of "oh man, things are going to get scary" is in that movie as well

I saw See No Evil on Friday and just finished the original today. Both movies are really good thrillers/horror movies, although James McAvoy's performance takes the cake over the original actor's performance.

I would highly recommend both and don't be afraid of watching the original because of a perceived 'language barrier' or subtitles. The movie is mostly in English with some Danish and Dutch mixed in.

I haven't yet seen the remake but I heard they changed the ending, so that alone is enough to ruin that movie for me. I do like Mcavoy tho

The Nightmare marathon is on AMC all day and for whatever reason they have them on backwards. At least they're getting the worst ones out of the way first (here's looking at you, Dream Child).

One and three are by far the best in the series, IMO. Everything else I'm lukewarm on. Although, Fred's Dead has a special place for me cause it's the least gory/scary. It was also my entry point (was terrified of Freddy before that) to the series.

I just finished Alien Romulus. Wow, I love the Slien series and of course they’re gonna ruin the series with some terrible one liners and awful “woke” scripting. It’s awful maybe it’s just me and I’m getting old

Isn't it oxymoronic to complain about 'wokeness' in a series that has always placed a female heroine - for better or worse - center stage? Not sure how the best movie in decades is ruining a series that was on life support but go off.

I did not find anything about Romulus cringe filled “wokeness”.

And it was a great return to form from Resurrection. I thought the movie was a lot of fun.

I already preordered the 4K Blueray Steelbook.

A little shout out for Wes Cravens New Nightmare. That had a lot of great elements. It was a cool idea for a series on life support after Dream Child and Freddy’s Dead (dude part 6 is unwatchable for me).

Looking forward to Rob Zombies series on MAX about the origins of Freddy Kruger.

He was blown to pieces in Jason Goes to Hell, and that didn't work.

See, their mistake was to make sure those pieces did not get back together. He's like the car Christine, he's gonna always regenerate back. But if you cut him into a thousand pieces and lock each piece into its own steel container, Jason dead, franchise dead lol.
