I don't like the day-and-date release thing. I know others do and couldn't care less about the theatrical experience or exclusive timing window, but it's something that I hold near and dear to me. It certainly doesn't help their business, that's for sure.
So see it in the theater, not like you can't. It's not like every movie is doing this and I'd assume the studio agrees to it and gets financially compensated enough to make it worth their while with the fear of low ticket sales due to covid factoring in.

I already saw it in theater. I just meant as a general thing. I just miss that special window of only theaters having it for a while. This sounds stupid for me to also say that I miss when things would be released at the same time on home video and On Demand like 5-6 months after it released theatrically. It kind of felt worth waiting for that way, I don't know.

Something else about the fear of physical media going away soon (and maybe movie theaters long afterward) tying in with these streaming services just irks me, that's all.

I'd imagine once covid is more of a distant memory and people feel comfortable going to the theaters more then this whole situation will end and go back to the way it was.

As for physical media I own literally zero digital copies of any movie and still buy things on 4k when it comes out if I liked the movie enough to watch multiple times so hopefully that doesn't die off at any point.

Caught up on Superman and Lois, blowing my expectations away. The first half of episode 11 may be the best Superman origin story montage ever put to screen. Excited to see Stargirl now, the first episode was pretty good.

It was before. They took it down for some reason but I think it’ll be back when the season ends.

The US version of Whose Line Is It Anyway with Drew Carey is on HBO Max.

I was wondering what happened to it on the CW Seed app.

                      Re: HBO Max Discussion

Finished up Small Town News. It’s a mockumentary about a small, independent news station based near Las Vegas, NV.

It begins directly in the 2020 political race and as COVID hit the US and the shutdown began, crossing between The Office style staged documentary and real footage at real political events.

I found it to be totally humanizing and charming. In a climate where if you aren’t on the same side of things you are enemies, I thought the series showed that whichever way you lean, you’re human. You’re part of your community. There is a bigger picture, but you can make your little slice the best it can be by being a decent person. Everyone has their story, but you don’t have to eliminate someone else’s because it doesn’t jive with yours.

There’s also completely, totally awkward moments (by design). Like, sooo bad I wanted to skip through the silence. For just 6, 30 minute episodes of a show that’s not supposed to be that deep, this show impacted me.

We started watching How To with John Wilson after hearing him on Conan's podcast a couple weeks ago. It is really fascinating, but completely off the wall. Some of the episodes are just insane.

Just an FYI for those who have the HBO package with Amazon Prime.

Beginning on September 15, anyone who once subscribed to HBO via their Amazon Prime Video account will have their subscription terminated as part of a deal cut by HBO’s parent company, WarnerMedia, to remove the channel from Prime Video’s Channels service.

WarnerMedia, HBO's parent company, is set to lose subscribers in order to ensure the native HBO Max app is the primary entry point for viewers.

They updated the app on Roku, now I can finally see my whole list in a decent format like I could with HBO Go. Thank the streaming gods.

Was wondering why it was telling me I had to pay to watch The Wire, lol.

Anyway, y’all ready for this Sopranos Prequel that’s dropping tomorrow!?
