But I'm confused about that tribal. It was a 3-3 tie with 5 people. Meaning the extra vote was used. But why? Erika and Heather were voting Naseer, Naseer was voting Heather. That's a 2-1 vote for Naseer with 1 more vote needed to get him out. So Ricard and Shan could've just split their vote (in the off chance Naseer played his idol) and it would've been a 3-2 vote regardless and he's gone.

And if Naseer used his idol AND Heather played the shot in the dark and won, Shan and Ricard would've been the only 2 who could be voted out, so not like the extra vote would've been useful.

        What a crazy episode.

Starts out with Ricard being the target because of DeShawn wanting him gone.

Then Shan tells Ricard and now they want DeShawn gone.

Ricard wins immunity, and he starts the plan to get out Shan, with Erika jumping in and adding Liana as a backup plan.

All for Danny to come to a realization that this whole plan could prove how big a threat Erika is and she needs to go.

And in the end, they get Shan out.

Based on the start time of the tribal, I really thought Deshawn was losing the do or die and they'd have enough time for a challenge the next day and someone else gets voted out in this same episode.

But that was still a stupid twist with bad odds.

I could understand last place in a challenge needing to risk their vote in that do or die comp, but to have a 66% shot of being gone from the game because of that twist, it was real stupid.

I hate how the new era of Survivor is only about twists. This is turning into Big Brother.

Old school Survivor with fewer twists would've been the better way to go.

I'm surprised nobody went for it. Only 1 person all season even bothered doing it. It's a twist they should get rid of though.

The do or die was dumb. Just pick a box, that's it. I was expecting him to do something like the fire building challenge and only having so many minutes to do it.

It was the Monty Hall Problem. He has a 2/3 chance of staying once he was asked to switch and a Jeff removed a skull.

It was still dumb. Should have been a fire challenge.

When Xander pointed out the Monty hall problem, it totally reminded me of the discussion in OT a couple years ago about the mathematical probabilities of it.

The odds are in your favor to switch, but he stayed with his gut and it worked.

I caught up after not watching any of the episodes. It was good but the idols had too much of a disadvantage. I liked the shot in the dark but I'm surprised it wasn't used much. It should be used more but players I guess thought they weren't going to get voted out.

I liked some of the splits that happened and it helped reomve the 2 people I didn't like. It can kill the game though for a strong player.

The idols that require 3 tribes need to be balanced somewhat because in the future, other tribes could use it to keep stronger players from having a vote if they don't open theirs.

                        Re: Survivor 41

I get they want to have big idol plays and changing the shift of power, but it needs to happen in a less forced way.

Once an idol gets played, it shouldn't be re-hidden.

And I like the idea of the idol hidden in less obvious places, like at a challenge or at tribal. Everyone checks under stumps and in a tree with a fork in it and all those places, why not mix it up?

Shows like Survivor and Big Brother, it seems like they overthink stuff. Why the need for the fancy twists and all these things? The simple stuff and simply changing the timing and predictability can impact things way more than any complex twist can.

I feel the opposite about that.

Survivor in the 20s seasons has so much craziness because of the idols. It was the fact that Idols were now considered the normal part of the game so now they had to come up with ADDITIONAL twists which made everything too much.

Not really happy with the winner or how the season ended.

And is this the first time the final immunity holder
