Re: Survivor 45
Given the first second chance season happened at s31, I think it might be closer to 50 before we see that again.Coach bringing that WARRIOR SPIRIT to Buffalo
Got me thinking, We’re in need of another second chance theme. That was the best season IMO because everyone is so locked in, they’ve all made it relatively far in the game before and it’s a dogfight. I’ll have to look back at the last bunch of seasons to see who I’d want to see back. Tough decisions
49th season could be a 25th anniversary thing and 50th could be a special one too.
Use one of those 2 to be a second chance season.
For various reasons, probably better if she's on Big Brother.Comment

Re: Survivor 45
Yeah we’re going in to Season 46 and it looks like no set theme, so only a few more seasons before the big milestone. Winners at War was a great theme for a milestone year, wonder what they would do to top that at 50.
Blood v. Water had two runs (slightly different) just a season from each other, so I don’t think we have to wait for a certain season number… but I do think they’re rebuilding their alumni, kind of withholding these fun themes so when we get it again it’ll feel special. I’ve seen enough of the old school, first 20-25 seasons of people. I’d like returners to be from seasons 30 and on so we can connect again with some of our favs.
Maybe they could do a “just missed the cut” where they bring back people who just missed the merge or just missed being on the jury.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

There's lots of options for them, it's just they probably don't feel the need to bring back former players. IIRC it costs more too since you have to pay the returnees more than newbies.Yeah we’re going in to Season 46 and it looks like no set theme, so only a few more seasons before the big milestone. They definitely would want to look at a returnee season with "new era" only players. For longtime fans it would be fun seeing someone from 10-20 years returning, but they won't be as relevant to newer fans and wouldn't really pull people into watching who either don't watch or don't watch anymore. And lots of the old school players are in their 40s and 50s, so it wouldn't even be the same people back.
Watching Colby from Australia vs HvV felt like watching a sports player in their prime (Australia) and then comparing them in their final season (HvV). We'd get a lot of that for sure and/or people who don't even watch the show anymore (Like Keesha from BB22 who was close to the top of everyone's returnees list for a decade).Comment

Re: Survivor 45
Another former Survivor player update....
If anyone doesn't watch The Traitors, you should.
S1 and S2
I never saw S1 but heard who won.
S2, you have the likes of Parvati and Sandra on it.
She's already considered one of the best to ever play Survivor, but I think if Parv wins this show, she's cemented herself at the top in terms of Survivor alumni who also appeared on other shows.
I think her game so far is better than most of her Survivor time which is crazy to say.Comment

2nd Place vs Winners?
If there are enough seasons where 1st and 2nd was actually a toss up then maybe a season with those players?Comment

Re: Survivor 45
There's lots of ways they could go, but given they've already done a winners season, maybe a season of just finalists? With 3 person finals, it allows up to 2 players from a season to be chosen, which widens the field for players you could ask to come back.Comment

Re: Survivor 45
Ya that would make perfect sense too. My mind gravitated towards 1st and 2nd since 3rd never gets a vote. I was curious and looked it up. It's been 10 seasons since the 3rd place finisher received a vote.
Another idea is to bring in winners from other countries. The themed season writes itself. Winners: USA vs The World.Comment

They never seem to acknowledge that other versions exist.
And all they care about is US audience. So having names from other versions/countries probably doesn't do much if anything to the US audience numbers.
Big Brother doing an international version would've been cool. Not sure how visa issues work with people being in a different country for up to 3 months straight while being cut off from everything.
If anything, BB is probably the easier to do since you could crossover with the Canadian version, and there's bound to be a segment of the US fans who do follow BB Can (even some past players who keep up with BB US do follow the Canadian one too).Comment

Re: Survivor 45
Looks like they are back on track with February premiers. I am sure CBS wanted it back since there are still writer strike delays.
True. I've never seen an episode of it, but I've read they've had some good seasons. Their modern era winners have all gone 47 days so it would be quite the contrast for them doing just 28 or whatever for US Survivor.Survivor/BB almost live in their own bubble.
