    Survivor 48

    Another season about to start.

Same format as before, 2 hour premiere, then 90 minutes episodes beyond that. Possibly the 2 week finale if they continue it like they did 47.

The big story which could overshadow part of the Survivor talk is the 25th anniversary talks. Technically this season counts as the 25th anniversary too (but they're not treating it as such) since the first one premiered in 2000 and the pandemic messed up the timeline a bit where 50 would've been the 25th anniversary also.

49 doesn't seem like they're doing anything special as yet for it (but that could change since I believe they film 49 in a few months), but the big news is s50 will have fan voting before the season. Fans get to vote on things like idols or no idols, tribe colours, firemaking f4 and more. Maybe we finally get a season with no idols again?

S50 will be filming later on this year so they'd have to plan it this far in advance.

The first wave of voting begins tonight so it'll be fun to see what we can vote on.

Early impressions, I like the Eva/Joe alliance.

I'm sure at some point we will see her getting flustered during a challenge and people will judge her and view it as a weakness, but if Joe sticks with her and guides her through it I think they could be a good duo.

David really annoyed me, that's my early take.

Oh wait, my other take, the puzzle Sai solved was way over my head, that seemed way too difficult, but I'm terrible with puzzles so that might be a me thing. The downside is now everyone knows she has it

Finishing up the episode now, but some pretty powerful moments between the guy helping the other when he realized he was out when the glass broke and then of course the connection between the two on the purple squad (still learning names lol). Seemed like genuine moments and it looked like they were received as such and not a pure gameplay move.

Jock dude annoys the hell out of me already. Huge d-bag energy out of him. He seems like he’ll crack quick and alienate his teammates. I thought orange was gonna lose easily in the challenge and he’d be the first to point fingers, but they made it thru.

That duo (Joe and Eva) I hope do make it far. Jeff can talk about/force "human connection" on people all he wants, but the moment between those two was as real as it gets. I wouldn't have known she was autistic if they didn't mention it, they mentioned she's a hockey player so that's all I thought they were going to focus on.

But now they're building it like a dad/daughter relationship where he'll look out for her and help get her through things if she's struggling mentally or emotionally.

Same note, that's David, he almost became aware mid episode and tried to bring up liking romcoms, but idunno, seems like shtick, rough start for him. I wanna give everyone a chance, who knows about edits, but yeah he really bugged me first impression

Huehuehue I’m just a normal guy in a jocks body!

Bro that’s what a jock is supposed to represent, the cool, normal athlete guy everyone likes who stuffs the nerds in lockers to uphold the social order.

Dude is dumb as nails and lacks self awareness. The way he talked about how he would’ve come back with the supplies… yeah right dog. He would’ve broken that glass on the first pour.

I was eye rolling everyone when they showed their videos of being selected because they’re all such fanatics lol, but they’ve all grown on me quickly. I’m pretty invested already.

Rooting for Joe/Eva big time because besides being decent folks they look like they’re damn good athletes in the challenges. Eva was impressive as it was but even more so when taking in to account her autism. I’ve heard it can be used as a superpower and it seems she may be able to tap in to that. I believe Joe is the fire captain? So it seems like a natural connection.

Seems this season we got a lot of brawn, male and female. Felt bad for dude who busted his shoulder, but I guess he’s fine? Did I miss him popping that thing back in? Seemed a classic case of a dislocation or maybe a subluxation. Hey look at me I’m just a regular dude in a doctors body now! [emoji23]

                    What genius gameplay.....

You're on the bottom in your tribe.

                    You find an advantage.

You tell everyone else in your tribe you found the advantage/need their help to he able to unlock it but until they do so they can't vote.

In other words "I know you want me out, so here's a reason I'm a threat, and by the way, I can't vote."

For how much time Jeff says they spend on casting they need to start making them do some kind of problem solving test. I was hoping someone would just go and hide all of the signs she needed.

                      Hoping Sai goes soon.

I feel like there's some rules/boundaries for it.

Probably can't hide the signs that producers placed all around.

The clue she got though, she gave that away which I believe means whoever has it can hide it (or "lose it") since it's now considered their belonging. But they can't hide the actual puzzle she got since its her belonging.

                          What a crazy tribal.

                          Nobody knew Justin can't vote.

Mary gave up her vote for a shot in the dark which worked so now she doesn't vote.

Sai and Cedreks voted are void since they voted for Mary, but now they realize there's only 2 votes.

Re vote happens and Cedrek votes Sai, Sai votes Justin.

Jeff is forced to reveal Justin doesn't have a vote so the re vote which would exclude those two can't happen since Justin never voted.

Re vote happens again and Cedrek votes Sai, Sai votes Justin.

So now Jeff says if they go to rock, Mary is already safe, and the two tied people don't draw rocks, so Cedrek would vote himself out. Cedrek decides to keep Sai and vote out Justin despite just voting for Sai twice. And only does so with the stipulation being that Sai and Mary work together going forward.

Now....we all know there's going to be a tribe swap because they weren't expecting someone to lose 3 challenges in a row and they can't just let us see a tribe go down to 2 or 1!? So Cedreks deal is now pointless.

Total fumble by Cedrek. Justin not telling him was a black mark against Justin, but it’s nuts to keep a person you voted for over a person you never voted for and claim to be more aligned with even after the reveal of not having a vote. The stipulation was stupid as hell, like it will mean anything. Now everyone on that tribe is against everyone else instead of Cedrek and Justin remaining strong with Mary the odd one out if/when it comes to it.

Episode really built Cedrek up only for that fall at the end. He’s gonna find himself on the opposite end sooner than later. It was crazy to try to unite the two who you know are divided after you just drew your line in the sand on one of them. He is screwing himself. It was funny he was like I can’t live on an island with you two at each others throats. My man chose peace over money in the most roundabout way. Noble. Lol

Justin pretty much rolled over and played dead at tribal. Sai really said whatever she needed to do to live another day and he sat there and didn’t say squat. You gotta at least try to fight back. Sai is going to gun for Ced the first chance she gets.
