It was a joke on the fact that there has been an abnormal amount of SNL episodes that Sans just appears at the end with the rest of the cast and doesnt participate in any skits.

Best two bits in the show last night were Peter playing air guitar on the crippled guys leg, then smashing the amp with him...

...and the 80's montage clean-up bit being done to "One Foot In Front of the Other" which is the same one they used when cleaning up the Frat House in "Revenge of the Nerds"

...close third was Stewie and Brian's "Intercourse" song.

I love the little parts in this show. The part I almost died on was when they were cleaning up and renovating the Clam. They had a robot cleaning the floor and then it went haywire...LOL

Honestly, I can't remember. I can say with almost certainty that he never had a problem big enough to warrant a stint in rehab or the media's attention though. While I do seem to recall from his E! True Hollywood Story that he did dabble a little bit with cocaine around the time he married Brynn, I can't find a link to varify it.
