XBOX 360: Initially UNDER-whelmed

Take a look at this intro video for the Xbox 360:

After listening to these geeks ramble on and on and on about how you can color your faceplate, send a photo, and store the thing vertically or horizontally, I am worried that this thing is going to be more based on all the EXTRA things you can do on it, instead of being focused on GIVING US THE BEST DAMNED GRAPHICS AND ANIMATIONS WE HAVE EVER SEEN IN A VIDEO GAME CONSOLE SINCE THE ORIGINAL XBOX!

Even with the brief clip we see of the team playing some (what appear to be) motorcycle game, I could not help but think to myself that this doesn't look any better than what we have now. I know it is still early, but after seeing this video, my 'NO WAY' opinion of purchasing a game console by Sony is starting to change to a 'Well, MAYBE…'.

M$ is going to be in some SERIOUS trouble if PS3 starts showing samples of games that are more visually stunning that what we saw here.

dude your pretty crazy if you think the games look like the game we have now, and that vid is old news. The 360 is pushing some serious hardware. You must have not seen all the screens out already, or the vids.

Vader also remember these are early non complete game clips you've seen thus far and tho some don't seem different that the current gen the Clip of Nba2k6 and ghost recon alone show that we are in for one hell of a console graphics wise. I can understand your position but as with any game a few vids and screens meen nothing untill you can play it for your self and make the final judgement.

People need to realize these games are running on alpha kits. That consist of a Dual cored G5 at 2GHz and an ATi X800, that's roughly 30% of the actual power going into the Xbox 360.

Robbie Bach said wait until people see the footage we've tonight, it's simply amazing.

I also wouldn't doubt that Sony will have better footage, as the PS3 developement kits are more advanced.

Yeah - I'll go out on a damn limb here and announce that the Xbox 360 will have the best graphics of any home console released since the original Xbox.

Whats inside the 360 doesn`t mean sh$t to the average gamer!

MS needs atleast 3 'must have' games at launch or this thing will tank. I`m undecied whether or not i`ll get the 360 but if I had to choose right now, I would say no, I`ll wait for the PS3.

I`m slighty disapointed that XBX got so many ports and devz DID NOT take advantage of everything xbx could do (and they`re still not really) I`m sure the same thing will happen to the 360.

MS needs to buy atleast one japanese company like Capcom or Konami and release an extra killer app to go along with Halo 3. But after the Halo overkill who`s going to buy this thing to play Halo?
