      PS3 dev kit...




      I can see why Sony is having trouble giving everybody dev kits. This thing is freaking huge, and it looks dangerous.

            $399 price point? No profits in year 1 AND 2 on the hardware?? That's the topic of discussion in this article at Gamespot. Pretty insightful actually, especially if you took marketing in college.

            Merrill Lynch Japan predicts Sony will lose more than $1 billion on hardware during its next-gen console's first year on the market--a sum it may not be able to recoup.


            Since the 360 is coming in so low with a price of $299 and all the R&D costs for the cell alone are already in the billions ($1.83 Bil), I think this article could have an element of truth to it.
