yep. Nothing is in stone. EBGAMES is taking at least 50.00 up to 400.00 for 360 reservations because they have no idea what the final price is going to be for the system.

that just means, for me at least (as a poor person), that I will wait at least 3 weeks after release dates of games, before I drop 60 bucks on something that MAYYYYYYYYYyy not be worth it.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

IF this is the actual price range we'll be seeing for Next Gen games it'll bring me back to the days of the NES. I guess i'll have to be more prudent when it comes to my purchasing of games if this is true.

That was what I was going to put on here. That's just classic. Should somehow be incorporated into the headline. I can only wonder how much I'd be feeling. I know that I'll be always getting at least two games a year. Both basketball games for 2K. Then Live is a possibility. Definitely making ebay my homepage starting the 31st of October.

Freak gamefly. I'd want to keep a game and play it if I have an urge. Definitely not selling any of my systems. I'll wait for entertainment inflation to go down or a good deal on ebay to arise that nobody else wants to take advantage of. I'm hurting.

Yeah most of the Xbox 360 games I have seen damn sure don't look like they have this "inflated development cost". Looks like price fixing to me.

If anyone here forked out the $60 for any of those "Collector's Editions" of games like Madden, Halo, Doom, Splinter Cell, or any others, you helped make these gaming prices what they will become.

Don't you guys realize that this was a little experiment on the part of the game makers? To see if today's gamers would pay $60 for a game? Well, TONS of people did, and as a result, we basically told them, "Yes, if the game is good enough, we'll pay more for it."

Now, as others have mentioned in this thread, it wasn't that long ago that I paid $69.99 for Tecmo Super Bowl III for the SNES. I can remember it well...took me like a damn month to cut enough grass to earn the cash to get it. Development costs have simply exceeded the $50 price point.
