PS3 beats 360 on the specs but if online play is the same as PS2 and not as organized as XBOX Live then they lost in that department. Seven controller ports is weird.

Sony is going to try to sell HDDs AGAIN? Didn't they fail when trying to sell HDDs on PS2 (I have one but it only really works for FFXI and ESPN 2k games).

The article at the top is a terrible comparison, as far as the hardware goes.

Why no comparison of the GPU's?

Why no comparison of the memory bandwith?

People are eating up these theoretical numbers.

The one that was just posted is biased, because it's comming from Microsoft, but atleast they break it down like you should when comparing the two.

Not all has been revealed yet, so I would just wait for a few months and one of the big Tech sites will have a comparison for the people that care.

Flawless could write an article about this much better than anyone at IGN. Specs don't mean that much. Hell when the PS2 came out, the Dreamcast was a MUCH superior system.

I know no one is going crazy about it here but if you go to any other sites it happened, I should have stated it that there isn't much fanboyism on this site which is good, my bad.

It seems to me like the Xbox 360 is being argued just like the ps2 was argued last time around. For me the ps2 was the better system initially because that is where the games were, but it wasn't as big an upgrade over the playstation as I had hoped. Ultimately the system with the better hardware won out. The thing the xbox does have going for it is the networking and online ability it has. Microsoft definately has advantages in that area. Im still kind of leaning towards the ps3 though, because I think both systems are established enough at this point where both will have good games. I might buy the 360 and then trade it in for a ps3 down the road. It's pretty much the same thing I did with the ps2 and the xbox.

That article by IGN confused the hell out of me though. Which one is more powerful? I understand the argument that its how you take advantage of the hardware and ultimately its the games. Hence why Nintendo isnt even in this decision imo.... But still I think the xbox and ps3 are close enough in games where the hardware will matter. That argument doesnt fly here imo although ive heard it every time a new system comes out. The xbox ultimately won out clearly over the ps2 because of its hardware advantage although it did take a while for game developers to take advantage of it. Are you telling me that developers arent going to take advantage of the ps3's specs? Please... Developers have pushed the ps2 to the limit. They pushed the playstation to the limit. It will be the same with the ps3 because so many people will own it. The xbox will be in the same boat. Why I think the system with the best hardware will ultimately win although the online capabilities of the xbox and having microsoft as a networking tool is a nice advantage.
