Re: So XBOX360 has won this forum?
Thing is that the reading of certain discs is something that can be downloaded onto the XBOX if it ends up needing it. Did Microsoft tell us what format they're using for their drive? In seeing the current computers, it's possible to read DVDs without a DVD drive. Microsoft probably already looked into the future about this situation knowing that they might have to upgrade their drives. What other way then by downloading new drivers or something of that nature? It would only depend upon how much space the companies need. The most is 4 GB right??Comment

The thing is the drives that read these disks are more expensive and they take longer to read, and since they are in their infant stage they are more prone to problems. 90% of video games dont even fill up a single layer dvd. All that space on those disks will probably be going to waste, while having possibly longer load times because the drives don't read as fast as dvd/cd drives do.Comment

If anything, MS would ship out with HD-DVD instead of Blu-Ray for obvious reasons(Blu-Ray=Sony). But why would they ship out with something, at a higher cost to them, that isn't close to being mainstream yet, if ever? Reality is, no game developer, on PC or Console, have made full use out of DVD9 yet, and I really doubt you'll see either Blu-Ray or HD-DVD being used to capacity anytime in the near future.Comment

In my mind Xbox 360 holds a overwhelming advantage over Sony's next gen system, simply because it will probably debut a good 5 or 6 months before the PS3. I'll probably take a chance and preorder it as soon as possible, to make sure I can get one at launch.Comment

I didn't mean for it too look like I didn't want anyone to like 360. It's just this looks like the Xbox forum on xbox.com .
All I see is PS3 bashing posts. But **** it, I didn't plan on this thread lasting that long anyways.Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910
