No, it's not true. You have to play online to rank up. It is fun though to play bot matches, on veteran level the bots are very formidable.

Hey DTX, I dont know if this answers your question or not but I just played an online created match with myself and bots, no human players. After the match, this message popped up......

"You need to play against other people to earn points. Your statistics for this game will be discarded"

So it looks like bot matches don't count but it's possible I'm missing something. You can have bot matches offline and to my surprise, you can also add them to online matches as well.

I think I read somewhere that you have to have at least 3 human players in a room to earn points.

When you're online can you stay in one mode or is it always changing no matter what you're in. I'm not a big fan of these continually changing game modes. Just adds confusion especially when you're new to the game. If I wanna do search and retrieve I wanna keep playing it. If I wanted to do something else I would do it. I don't like having the game decide for me.

No you don't Fishepa

I was very glad to see that. As with most games, head shots will get you kills very quickly, but body shots will get you kills at a nice pace as well. It's very well done and is nothing like Gears of War or Halo3 when it comes to the ease of getting kills.

This is a hard choice... On one hand I want this game bad... on the other hand, SF IV has consumed pretty much 100% of my PS3 time (except for last nite playin SFII HD with Pared)

I don't want this game only for it to collect dust...
