When you're online can you stay in one mode or is it always changing no matter what you're in. I'm not a big fan of these continually changing game modes. Just adds confusion especially when you're new to the game. If I wanna do search and retrieve I wanna keep playing it. If I wanted to do something else I would do it. I don't like having the game decide for me.

Seymour, from what I saw last night, you can join a private match where the host can pick and choose what modes to play. It is possible to pick one mode and just run with that. Like a standard Team Deathmatch or one of the other modes. The only thing is with the private games is it looks like the host does not have an option to set it to friends only, at least I didn't see it. However, the host can set a password to make it private and keep the riff-raff out. In the case of OS only matches, we can set an entry password and then message people here or over PSN on what the password is.

One beef that I have with the multiplayer is that it doesn't have a Deathmatch or free for all mode where every man is for himself. Also, there's no party mode as far as I can tell unless that is managed through the clan system..............i don't know for sure.

This is a hard choice... On one hand I want this game bad... on the other hand, SF IV has consumed pretty much 100% of my PS3 time (except for last nite playin SFII HD with Pared)

I don't want this game only for it to collect dust...

IMO, it's hard to imagine this game gathering dust or becoming a coaster :wink:

But everyone has their own taste in games, so I guess it may not be for everybody.

No single deathmatch? Please tell me you're kidding? That's a game killer for me. Please confirm this. I can't see this being not in there.

yeah.. I'm an FPS freak.. I just did not know that SFIV was going to captivate me the way it did... I feel like it's 1992 all over again with my mom bringing home Street Fighter II for SNES

True that. I can't believe how addicting SF4 is. It's klled my hype for KZ because I don't wanna stop playing.

Not that I've seen, but I'll look again and report back. Have to verify the lack of a standard Deathmatch mode as well.

As far as I can tell Seymour, there's no Deathmatch mode at this point. Maybe it's something they can easily add through a server update......kinda of like how they add modes on the COD series.

The game is awesome online, especially in the private matches where the host can set up a saved game type where he picks and chooses what mode to play, what maps and a few other options. Looks like the custom games types have to be set up prior to starting a match. Also, it doesn't look like the host can change to another saved custom game setup while sitting in the post match lobby, but I'll look at it again.

The closest thing to a true DeathMatch that I see is a One on One mode where's it's just two people fighting it out.

Now why in the hell would you limit it to just 2 people??? Doesn't make sense.........

Bare in mind, that I may just be overlooking a Deathmatch option..........slim chance that's the case though as I've been through all of the online menus

This game has now become a rental for me. Looks like no DM's and now I hear there is no party support so if you set up a game with your clan members, it's no guarantee that you're on the same team. Which means MP will get old fast for me. What a letdown. Thank god for SF4 to keep me busy.

No Hardcore mode!!! Although, through custom game types, you can turn off the radar or have it only show the enemy when he's firing. I didn't care for the radar while playing last night so it's nice to see that you can turn it off in the custom game setup. But there's nothing in the options as far as turning off the on screen crosshairs or increased damage (quicker deaths).

Not that I've seen

Head shots are pretty much one shot kills but those are hard to pull off at a distance. Some of these maps are fairly large.

I belive it's "Street Fighter 4", I could be wrong though.
