Well hopefully the storyline will be decent. That is the key to making this game more than just a rental.

Played the demo. It was fun - but I could also see it getting old quickly. Really - there's like 1-2 animations for each weapon so far - and they get tiring quickly.

The first time I nailed the sledgehammer into the ground I thought it felt awesome. by the 20th time I was getting bored with that weapon.

Hopefully the story will be good - as well as increasingly better areas and weapons.

I don't see how this isn't anything but a rental. Costume changes will get old fast and the weapons get stale after you see the animations.

It's fun to play and it looks pretty cool, but 60 bucks is a lot to ask for what's basically a hack n' slash.

            The Bottom Line

"Dead Rising may not be a game for everyone, but it for those that have enjoyed past Capcom games and zombie games of the past will definitely want to check this out as it’s completely dissimilar from anything you’ve seen before. The astounding level of variety that is packed into the game is wonderful to see. While side missions can be tedious at times, there’s nothing that’s truly forcing you to complete them so feel free to steer clear if you like. The story is engaging and semi-comical at times, it definitely heads in a different direction than you’re expecting at the beginning. In short, this is the game that you should own in the interim between now and the holiday season’s onslaught of gaming bliss. "

How to get the most out of your Dead Rising demo
              Intro:
Some people simply download this demo, play it for the 15 minutes and say "That sucked", then delete it from their hard drive. So I made this little guide to shine some light on all the things you can do in this demo, and also to help anyone who is looking for something. Enjoy .....

Re: Dead Rising Hands-On (Xbox 360)

From reading this review, there seems to be some good and bad. The good outways the bad imo.

                Pros:
                -Cutscenes are amazing looking.
-Graphics could go either way as to how you look at it. DR is not next gen breakthrough, but for the type of environment and amount of characters on screen at one time it’s forgiveable.
-Camera aspect adds new element to the game.
-Side missions power-up Frank even though they are tedious.
-Weapons, Weapons, and more Weapons. There are weapons that can be used more ways than one.
-Mix different drinks in the restaurants for potions.
                -Audio is also amazing

                Cons:
-Long Load times between cutscenes + when moving from one section of the mall to the next.
-Clothing must be returned to the store you took it from.
                -Side missions can get tedious.
-Game is time based, you have 72 hours to finish all objectives. You need to always be looking at your watch.
-Save points are reminisant of older Capcom titles like Resident Evil.
                -No autosave.

how is that a con? The game was designed to make you feel like you are under pressure to survive for a period of time... that adds to the intensity IMO

I feel the same way as you it's part of the game (pressure), but i guess to some people it's a con

I was just summarizing what the reviewer said was cons and pros. Shoot the delivery guy and not the messenger. LOL!

We won't know until Wednesday as to how the game plays out.

I'd rather decapitate the messenger with a scythe (after jamming a hanger into the messenger's mouth first, of course)

Can't wait to play Dead Rising. I have been sold on the game for quite sometime, it just looked and sounded so awesome. Plus the fact that Kenji Inafune was behind the game didn't hurt. I like that the game was made to be played through mutiple times, because you won't discover, and unlock everything your first time. The unlockable Infinity Mode is going to be sweet. Being able to use your saved character with the entire mall completely unlocked, and just going around reeking havoc with no time limit is going to be some good times. Trying to get all the achievements should be a blast too.

Only thing I'm disapointed about, is the lack of Co-op. I will pay extra for it Capcom!
