Although you MAY be right, I have provided proof of my confirmation. If you can supply a link or an article or something of any significance that proves me wrong, then I'm more than happy to believe your argument. For now, all I know is what I read in a 10+ page special feature about the entire system. To me, that's concrete evidence. so until I read something credible that says otherwise, that's what I'll believe. I do hope you're right though...

As far as wanting backwards compatibility, the real reason I wanted it was because I want to get NCAA '06 for Xbox. so that when I get the Xbox 360, I'll still have a college football game to play on the system. Plus, it's sometimes fun to go back and play some of the classics. It's not a dire need, but I still think it would be nice...

I have the egm issue, it's not like you have something exclusive. The magazine was a month behind all the news from e3. Backwards compatability was confirmed in the microsoft press conference. If you don't believe me then look for yourself, I don't need to prove anything to you. It's been posted in all the e3 threads so look in those for the links. And if you need to play the "classics" then just put them in your xbox.

So when Gamesindustry.biz published an article revealing the console's radically different hardware couldn't support current-gen Xbox games, accusation perfidy in Redmond began to fly. "The solution Microsoft has reached is apparently to recompile current-gen Xbox games so that they can be played on the 360," says G'biz. "First on the list, it says, are the best-selling Halo titles." However, Xbox owners were the only ones freaking out. The usually recalcitrant Microsoft bypassed its external public relations company, telling GameSpot directly that, "Our goal is to have every Xbox game work on Xbox 360. You will NOT need to purchase a new 'version.' Your original games will work on Xbox 360."

You do realize that magazines have news about a month behind, don't you? There's going to be backwards compatability, it's already been confirmed.

And anyway, I don't see why everyone wants backwards compatability that bad. It's not like you'll get that much money by trading your xbox in so you might as well keep it and play those games if you really want to.

I will keep my XBOX for all the games I have for it.
