Lol I can't wait to read this.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

AS: What do you think of the competitors' machines? Will Sony continue to dominate the gaming market?
Ken Kutaragi: Microsoft is trailing behind us, but they are not a threat. They are good at improving [on products], but we will be advancing to the next level with revolutionary technology. Beating us for a short moment is like accidentally winning a point from a Shihan (Karate master), and Microsoft is still not a black belt. Just like with their operating systems, they might come out with something good around the third generation of their release.

Re: Next-gen leaders talk about their consoles
To me the most interesting thing in that article is that Kutaragi talked as if Sony was confortable with having a higher priced system than everyone else. We have been wondering if they would drop the price to whatever Microsoft sets and eat more money on each console much like Microsoft did with the XBOX. Microsoft was just entering the market then and didn't really have a choice. Sony is including the Blu-Ray DVD and second video out would lead to a higher manufacturing cost. It sounds like they feel that with the lead in the market that they can charge more for the superior hardware.Memory Cards are the devil!Comment

Re: Next-gen leaders talk about their consoles
the Sony guy was very unprofessional in that interview, IMO...even if that's what you think you really don't say stuff like that to the press, it'd be kinda like a politician saying 'My opponent in this race is a moron'...he may think that but you never hear it come out of his mouth.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Next-gen leaders talk about their consoles
Ironically, those are some big balls. The thing I'm liking is that Microsoft didn't commit to any format for its drive yet. That's great on the real. However, with Blu Ray being so big a deal, there might be better formats out there. I think it was Flawless who put out that article about IBM or some other company using a smaller laser disc to better use the current DVDs for a sh!tload of GB power. I think it jumped pass what Blu Ray was. I'll look for it. My thing is, if the XBOX 360 can use the improved laser disc for its standard, then all that money Sony put up was good for nothing. I'm just sitting back and being entertained....Comment

There, found it. My fault. Wasn't Flawless, but rather Jmood. Great find on the real. By the way, it was in the hundreds. HUNDREDS Okay, just click there http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/8372/8...logy-Patented/ and think about it like I am....

Re: Next-gen leaders talk about their consoles
I would be totally stunned if the 360 had anything better than standard DVD. It is coming out in 5 months. There are no High Def DVD players of any sort on the market at all. They just don't have time to get that in there.
The only reason that Sony can do it is that it is:
1. PS3 is not coming out until 2006
2. Blu-Ray is their own format
3. They are willing to lose money including it in the PS3 in order to help establish Blu-Ray.Memory Cards are the devil!Comment
