Someone please tell me how this article is a good thing for the Sony PS3? Go ahead and read it here. Put down what you want. I'm curious to know what ya'll think about this. Heading back to work real quick. I'm really wondering. Give the details and all that you can.

80GB HDD? That's a bit much IMO.

So, let me get this straight. The guy bashes Xbox because its more than a gaming console, but this guy wants to run an entire OS on it? Hyprocrit?

I thought he was bashing the Xbox because he thought it's more of a minor upgrade than a brand new console.

Either way, I like his approach with the PS3 because I think it's going to be similar to the PSP. Something that's not just for games, but a little bit of everything. Can't go wrong with that.

Please clarify because if you use a system right, it honestly doesn't have to be only for games. XBOX is more than for games if you "use it right." I do like the 80 gb Hard drive even though I'm not sure that it'll be standard. Is it standard? Definitely have to read that article. Busy day today though....

But when we first release it as a game machine, we won't need an HDD.

Well, that's a killer. I'm sure that MS will come out with a 80 GB HDD. I thought it was standard. Dumb move. Very dumb move. It's cool though. Wasn't planning on buying it anyway. And the possibility of having a defected cell that has a defective SPE isn't something that I'm really thinking about putting money into. So was this article a shot in the foot then....??

Well the guy talks like he knows what he's doing and the Playstation has been dominating the videogame industry since '94, so it doesnt bother me with all the SPE talk. I'm not even sure how all of that stuff works, just as long as the games play fine I dont see why anyone other than developers would care.

The thing is he's talking about a track record. It was all a good when it was back in 94 and stuff but this clearly has nothing to do with that....except the backwards compatibility. But, you see how nobody is really tripping on all of that. I sure have no games that I want to see played on the PS3 because I know that I'm not going to be all interested in all that. The only thing that old games are good for are coasters. Maybe others are different but my hunger for gaming increases with expectations of the next-gen games. The games will most likely play fine. What I'm hearing is the possibility of cutting off a leg of the Cell. Ironically, that's not what I'd be paying for, not a complete cell chip in my system. That's less power than they were putting out. And they were claiming that it was the true console of the next-gen. I don't know. I'm sure I have no clue how it all works either but so far, the guy is looking "sloppy" to me. I'm not truly bashing....I'm lying. Yes I am. Just looks like his whole approach is suspect.

As far as I know the hard drive is extra. No Hard drive (Standard) and still Sony can't get online right. Guess they will rely on "PS2 sold XXXXX amount of consoles" so why change theory.

possibly 2 . PS3 will probably be very expensive as is, then add in the hard drive price. But atleast you can have 7 controllers at once.

Yeah, I'd love to play a 3 on 4 in any game. Just weird to have an odd number. But they do have slots in the back to include more players on wired controllers. Uselessness. Need to take out 3 of those 7 controllers which I'm sure nobody will be buying in the first place and put in a freaking 20-40 GB HDD. Common sense. It's like so much uselessness. I don't remember what they have but 20 usb ports is ridiculous. Only need at most 2. Maybe four if it's headset compatible. But that should got to the controller. I just don't know about this company anymore. They're digging in wallets hard and that's not a good thing. But there are people who do buy the names before they buy the quality. Not saying that it isn't a great system in the making. It's just not a more affordable and competent 360....

They don't put the hard drive in for one simple reason...money. They want you to buy more crap. Its the reason they only give you one controller. I think the 7 person thing is the bluetooth capacity for the system. I've spent alot more than 250 bucks for my PSP, however Sony is not the only one that does this. I wasn't as mad though when Microsoft made me buy a remote for my Xbox mainly because I was going to get one anyway for DVD viewing. A hard drive is another story.

I'm buying an Xbox 360 as well.

I mean, Sony hasn't released much info still. It's just talk right now, so I expect info later on this year and early next year around release and I'm pretty sure Sony is going to have something special. I mean they know what their up against, so I doubt they'll do something stupid.

You do realize that Microsoft had to pay Sony royalties for the DVD feature. So in other words, every dvd kit the MS sold, a portion of the profit went to Sony.
