Re: XBOX 360 v. PS3
I'm getting the PS3 for a few reasons:
1) I don't need to jump out of the gate to get a new console; I'm waiting until college or so.
2) Backward compatability. I have plenty of PSX and PS2 games to play it with.
3) The first-party games, amount of games that will be out, the controller, my friends are getting it so I can play online with them... everything.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -

But which system is supposed to be more advanced? I know noone will know until they come out, but based on what we know to date, which will be more powerful?Comment

Re: XBOX 360 v. PS3
I'm supposing the PS3, only because it's launched later. Nikon is only making their chips so much smaller (they are down to about 60 nanograms I believe), and by the time it comes out, well, they'll have more room for more power. Not much, but it really advances monthly.
The only real disadvantage to buying a PS3 is... well... you know Sony as much as I do... basically everything else is separate so that you have to buy more.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: XBOX 360 v. PS3
i'm half tempted to lock this now because I know what will ensue.
right now it's all really a preference based on what you hear, all personal opinion, because we haven't seen enough, had our hands on things, to make a decision. I'm getting a 360 because I like the Live online service (and it's out first), but comparing everything else is just a battle of flip flops, caches, multi threading, etc, stuff which didn't thrill me when I learned it in college, and really doesn't mean much overall. Games will show us more, but we haven't seen much as of yet. There's a good phrase for this battle so far "It's not the size, it's how you use it". Both systems have the potential to be great, just a matter of which one executes. I'll probably end up with both at some point, so in the end the gamers win.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: XBOX 360 v. PS3
I think there are simply two questions to ask yourself that will make your decision relatively easy.
1. Do you want a console for the online play?
or
2. Do you want a console for it's small graphics edge over its competitor?
If your like me and don't use your console for much other than Online play, Xbox360 is your only choice. PS3 will not compare to the next generation Xbox in terms of its online functionality.
If you don't care much for the online side of things and you want a slightly better performing machine, then the PS3 is for you.

I was just stating my personal reasons for taking one over the other.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: XBOX 360 v. PS3
Xbox 360:
Graphics between the two are pretty much the same with the xbox being a better designed system
Much better games that have been announced
Xbox live is free now
Backwards compatability(now possible with every game)
Hard drive included
Looks better, lolOriginally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Xbox Live service.
Still, an annual subscription to Xbox Live for $50 is the best value in video gaming, hands down. Nothing else is even close.
Take care,
