Walmart is your best bet IMO. I found PS2's release day because no one else was thinking that, and I was 3rd in line. They didin't open until 7AM, but I got there at 2. So not bad. Some dudes brought up a PS1 and had an extention cord, so we played games all night. I love waiting all night with a bunch of people who didn't prepay, because the crowd is awesome.

Wow, that kind of blows my "think quick and drive quicker" theory of searching to bits!

The Walmart I'm thinking of is in a suburb of Boston where I live so if they get them on Tuesday morning, I'm hoping that I could get one that day either over lunch or with the help of a committed friend desparate to play Madden 360. Is that completely unreasonable to think that I could walk in without waiting for hours? I'd put the time in Monday night at a 24-7 Walmart, but I'm working Tuesday so if it hits shelves during the day I'll need some help.

Currently, I'm planning on going to Super Wal-Mart about 8-9PM and wait til 12:00 to roll around. I think that'll be your best bet, however I'll be calling from work on the 21st to every GameRush and Wal-Mart around to find out exactly how many Xbox360's they got. I've got a GameRush about 5 minutes from here, that I'd like to get my 360 from. They're currently all pre-ordered out at 10 copies. I'm hoping they get maybe 15-20 360's in, guess time will tell.

You could always go the eBay route and scour the auctions like a hawk. You can find a good deal on them. As a matter of fact, I just ordered one from eBay w/ 3 games, 2 controllers, and the premium system for $650. It's not a great deal, but it's not horrendous either.
