I just got Star Wars Battlefront 2

I managed to get the game a little early..just picked it up about an hour ago.

Early impressions are this game is freaking ridiculously fun. My first mission was defending Princess Leia's Blockade Runner from A New Hope. I actually got to play as Leia too.

The graphics seem crisper and cleaner than the first and the action is much more fluid. AI seems MUCH improved.

I'll post more impressions later but I'd say this game is a must buy for Star Wars geeks like me and is going to be hell a fun online.

Ok...quick and dirty review...

This game rocks. If you enjoyed the first one...you'll love this one.

The AI is much much...MUUUUCH improved. Your troops are much more aggressive and work as more of a unit...rather than wandering drones with no real purpose to what they are doing.

Battles are HUGE and hectic. You actually feel like you are in the battle for Hoth, the space battle over Endor, etc.

Space Battles are AWESOME. Online this is going to be killer...imagine. You are flying an Xwing..you and your buddies drop two Tie Fighters, weave your way through a Star Destroyer's defense cannons, then land inside the Star Destroyer's hangar bay and proceed to wreak havoc from the inside...then get back to your Xwing to take off before the ship explodes.....awesome.

Words can't describe the coolness in bitchslapping Droids/Clone Troopers as Yoda.

Anyway..any OSers who pick this up..look for me and let's go kick some Imperial arse!

Damn you for making me want this game. I played a demo of the first game and thought the AI was laughable, and therefore kept me from buying the game. Is there going to be a Battlefield game on the 360?

Damn you, you got NCAA early and now this.

Maybe I should move to Alabama, they seem to get games in earlier.

My oceanography teacher talked about this game so much last year (not during class, we'd talk before class and stuff about games) but I never got around to buying it. I should stop by his class next week to see if he is getting it.

That's odd. My Psych teacher last year was big into gaming and had the game as well. He'd miss the day it was released and the following day. He'd come in and be tired and let us do whatever that day lol.

I was joking about moving to Alabama. Who in their right mind would move to Alabama?

Yeah, that class was sick last year with a teacher who liked gaming. I'm going to aide for his class next year, that way I can go on the field trips.

Trust me, I'm leaving when I get a job out of college lol.

Lol. I had an Astronomy and Physics class(same teacher) and we'd go to Six Flags in Atlanta every spring on an "educational" field trip. We'd leave the night before and spend the night and then hit Six Flags the next day. Nothing beats 2 days out of school to ride roller coasters

Same deal here for Cali. I'm trying to go to college out of state.

Oceanography class we went on three field trips; 1) Whale watching, 2) Long Beach Aqaurium, and 3) SEA WORLD.

I started a Galactic Conquest campaign as the Imperials. Space Battles are fun as hell. You start with one fleet as do the Rebels. You can choose to move your fleet into a zone and basically counter what the Rebel fleet does. I defeated a Rebel fleet over Kashykk in a badass space battle where you can fly just about every kick *** Imperial ship there is. Also..you can fly Imperial Shuttles and have your stormtroopers climb aboard as a strike force when you land inside the Mon Calamari Cruiser.

If you take control of the Planet's orbit...you can then invade the planet proper.

I took Kashykk and used points to be able to use Bobba Fett (HELL YES!). I wailed on some Rebels with Bobba Fett and ended up taking the planet. However, the Rebel Forces countered and I suffered my first defeat at Endor. I'm now moving my Imperial Forces into the Yavin System and I will show the Rebels what veangence truly is!!

On a side note..the ground battles are friggin' enormous in this version. On Kashykk there were easily 40-50 soldiers on the screen at once with no slowdown whatsoever.

Anyway..I'm off to bring Order to the Galaxy. Yes..I have played as Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Yoda, Bobba Fett, Luke, Han Solo, Leia, and numerous Jedi Knights that I Don't know the names of.
