I started a Galactic Conquest campaign as the Imperials. Space Battles are fun as hell. You start with one fleet as do the Rebels. You can choose to move your fleet into a zone and basically counter what the Rebel fleet does. I defeated a Rebel fleet over Kashykk in a badass space battle where you can fly just about every kick *** Imperial ship there is. Also..you can fly Imperial Shuttles and have your stormtroopers climb aboard as a strike force when you land inside the Mon Calamari Cruiser.

If you take control of the Planet's orbit...you can then invade the planet proper.

I took Kashykk and used points to be able to use Bobba Fett (HELL YES!). I wailed on some Rebels with Bobba Fett and ended up taking the planet. However, the Rebel Forces countered and I suffered my first defeat at Endor. I'm now moving my Imperial Forces into the Yavin System and I will show the Rebels what veangence truly is!!

On a side note..the ground battles are friggin' enormous in this version. On Kashykk there were easily 40-50 soldiers on the screen at once with no slowdown whatsoever.

Anyway..I'm off to bring Order to the Galaxy. Yes..I have played as Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Yoda, Bobba Fett, Luke, Han Solo, Leia, and numerous Jedi Knights that I Don't know the names of.

What version did you get? If PC...was sort of control device do you use?

I never played the 1st one so I'm not really familiar with the game. From watching some videos it looks kinda like Halo but from how you and others talk it seems a lot more strategic than that.

Are the flight missions more complex than in the first version? As a veteran of the x-wing and rogue squadron series, the the flight mechanics in battlefront seemed a bit simplified to me. Thanks for the review.

Auburn, are these impressions from single player or on XBox live. I don't have my PS2 hooked up to the net (no network adaptor) so is this game still worth it if it isn't online?

im guessing there arent too many people online.

when AA and myself got NCAA early, there were a grand total of 4 people online - me, AA, and two other guys ) im sure these are single player impressions- at least thats how they sound to me

just got a call from Gamestop saying that the game will be on sale tomorrow at 9 pm & that they are having some sort of costume party...

do they have any Destroy the Death Star senarios?

The flight physics are very similar to Crimson Skies.

There ARE missions around the Death Star..as well as on board the Death Star.

You can also play missions on Dagobah, Felucia (the giant flower planet where that blue Tw'ilek Jedi got betrayed), the snow planet where the Conehead Jedi got betrayed, etc.

My brothers and I have been playing it all day and we all give it big thumbs up.

Best Star Wars game I've played (other than KOTOR of course).

Is this game 2 player without online? id like to rent this for my gf's dad and play it with him, he into those games and for some reason this one has sparked my interest even though im not big into shooters or star wars

And I was resigned to not buying anymore Xbox games, with the Xbox 360 coming out in a few weeks......Hmmmm......
