Putting the Xbox on Ebay, but...

    Not sure how.

I see a lot of you guys are doing this. I have never sold anything on Ebay and have only bought one item .

How does one go about doing this? How does it all work? What are you guys asking for price wise?

Im going to sell that, controllers, xbl headseat and my games.

I should get more money doing it this way then trading the system and games in right? I also should sell the games seperate from the system correct?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would sell the games seperate. I would put like a $50 reserve on the xbox, just in case it doesn't get bid up that high.

I got 215 for Xbox, HD cables, DVD, memory card, 6 sports games (Nba 2k6, NCAA 06, Halo, Halo 2, ESPN MLB 2k5, Tiger Woods 2005) and 3 controllers.

I couldnt have got nore than 120 for all that if i traded it in. EBAY is the way to go. You can also make a little money on the S&H and then offer insurance.

Dont put a reserve, just start the bidding at the lowest you would accept.

Selling the games seperately would probably get the most money. If you have some trash games though it might work better in a bundle. A bundle is a little less hassle on having to ship multiple things.

Paypal is by far the easiest, and it's free.

Dookie, I put mine up on ebay yesterday and it's gone already. I'm actually shocked. I thought i'd at least get to have it through the rest of the week...lol

I sold the xbox, controllers, hd cables, madden 05, nfl 2k5, mvp 2005, and college hoops 2k5 for $125. I know I wouldn't have gotten more than 5 for those games on trade in and they weren't selling for much, if at all on ebay now.

follow the paypal user agreement to a tee.

its FRAUD heaven for most buyers.

                    a chargeback here or there.

its really quite sad.. be careful guys

dookie, its quite complicated when dealing with ebay and paypal.

you can go about this two ways.

1/ attach your debit card AND bank account to paypal
                            or
2/ only attach your debit card, and spent the incoming funds on other purchases. (paypal will keep a balance in your account)

the tricky part is, when accepting PAYPAL on EBAY, they require you to accept credit card funded payments, and instant transfers. The Kicker is that, credit card transactions require you to UPGRADE your account status. Doing so, it is no longer free to receive money. you are looking at 3% plus 35 cents.... not a lot but still.

A lot of fraud occurs with creditcard chargebacks. so there's your problem with ebay.

Just becareful and don't upgrade your account if you dont have to. If the winner wants to pay with a creditcard, by ebay law, you have to accept, and upgrade.

sorry if this is an overload. It's not easier anymore, unless you want to get frauded... gain knowledge and it shouldn't happen.
