Re: Best buy..whose camping out there?
Well, the bad news for the RV and Coffee is that I don't drink Coffee. I'm thinking maybe I should start though, as cold as it's going to get. And the second part of the bad news is that my parents are probably going to need to use the RV to head to SC to see my sister for Thanksgiving.
I'll probably just inflate an air mattress and put it in the back of the SUV. Should suffice. I just won't have all of the extra amenities. Who knows, I may get one at Wal-Mart the night before, and not even have to camp, but now I'm fully prepared to camp.
I'm still hopeful in regards to the RV though...Twitter - WTF_OS

If you have a Sam's Club, I'd suggest checking with them. Chances are if you do enough research, finding out how many stores are getting, and what there plans are for opening, etc. You could get one man.
its crazy because theres this 3 block radius with a circuit city, best buy, toys r us, a frickin MALL with ebgames, and a walmart to boot.
I think i'll ride my bike up there and ride around to each to see whats going on. way quicker than looking for a parking space.Comment

But think about how hard it's going to be to pedal and carry the xbox at the same time.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I guess I shouldn't have sold my Xbox as early as I did. It's catching back up to me now."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Originally posted by wtferrellHave you all ever been so hyped for something? I mean, I'm acting like a 10 year old at Christmas. This is horrible. I wasn't even this hyped for the first Xbox. I know that I will be able to snag one at Sam's that morning, but am still going crazy at the thought of not getting one.

I wonder what time people will start showing up. I'm going to have two cell phones w/ me, and have the alarms set for 4 o'clock. You all think that would be good enough. Then probably every 30-45 minutes from then on out if there isn't anyone there.
I'm new to this whole campout deal, so I don't know what time people start showing up.
Since you are gonna set up shop at a Sam's Club, I really don't think you have much to worry about. You have to realize 1) it is not one of the stores most people who are down to camp for one are gonna think about, and 2) you have to have a paid membership to even shop there in the first place. That will eliminate a lot of people by default. On top of that, you have a business membership that lets you get in 3 hours before the general people. Even if a line starts, chances are most of them won't be business members, so you could theoretically walk right past them when they let you in at 7 am, even if they had been there lined up for 10 hours or more. I am thinking you could probably cruise over there at 4-5 am and be fine, hell, maybe even later.
I definitely feel you on the excitement factor of the launch, though. For some reason, I am more excited about this launch than the PS2 one, and I lined up for that one for like 11 hours, first in line at a K Mart that only had 3 consoles. The funniest part about that was right across the street, there was a TRU and a Target, each with over 50 people lined up, and not one of them even thought to go across the street and check the K Mart, where the #2 person didn't even come until 5 hours before the store opened. I'm so glad I was able to get one of the bundles at TRU this time.Comment

Re: Best buy..whose camping out there?
I'm telling you, the last week or so I have been devising a plan in my head for the night before launch. My GF and I were going to head to Ciruit City and Target and wait in line.
I kept imagining pulling into the parking lot at 4am and seeing 400 people on line like a Star Wars premiere, and knowing that I wouldn't be able to get it.
This afternoon I was taking a nap, and my GF decided to call every TRU in NY and found a place that still had preorders. She woke me up in a frenzy to get dressed but I wasn't feeling it. "Nah babe, don't worry, its just BS. The guy doesn't know what he is talking about, and I'm not getting out of bed anyway". Well, she called her brother in law, and they both went to TRU while I stayed in bed. When she called to tell me she got it and confirmed with TRU that I would def be getting on launch I was ecstatic. Since then I've been in the best mood possible.
I keep talking to my GF about it, and she is being really cool about it and acts like she cares, but we both know she could care less about the 360. Problem is, I can't stop thinking about it, so I keep mentioning little things to her. I mean, I just realized I may be able to burn all of my porn into the 360 and watch it on the big screen and sit on the couch for once, instead of this damn PC chair. That alone is a treat in itself.Comment
