    Warranty.......Microsoft...

    Guys this is why I didn't pay any extra money for a warranty at TRU, just for the simple fact that I knew microsoft would be including there warranty offer just like they did with the xbox.....$59.00 for 2 years for anythihng that goes wrong they fix it for nothing, and in the event they can't they send you a new one. Best of all when the two years it up you can keep renewing.....Great warranty, I had it with my xbox and used once when my disk didn't read any games.

    I think they send you a refurbished one right? I didn't get the warranty at GS but the manager told me that I could come back in the next couple days and he'd sell it to me.

        I would definitely recommend purchasing the warranty, especially since mine is already broken.

              Yup, my DVD drive is messed up. I can't play a game longer than 5-10 minutes before it says that the disk I am using is out of region or says that the disk is damaged. It happens on all 3 games I bought (PGR3, COD2, and NBA2K6).

              However, I am getting really good at Hexic.

                Have you contacted Xbox support?

                Hopefully it's an easy fix for you and not something that requires you to send it back and get another one. Who knows how long that would take?

                  I spent 2+ hours on the phone with Xbox today...they said I have to send it back. They quoted me approximately an 8-10 business day turnaround.

                    Sheesh... 8-10 isn't terrible considering I've had friends send back PS2's and were told 1 month return time, but still. That really stinks since you just got it.

                      Thanks...I guess I am getting punished for not having to wait in line.

                      What really topped off my day was that I called the EB that I purchased it from this morning to see if anyone was having the same problems from that location and see if, miraculously, someone didn't pick one up and the lady (I think the actual store manager) was extremely unsympathetic and very unprofessional. I knew that they probably weren't going to be able to help me, but she totally blew me off. So, I spent another 1/2 hour on the phone to EB corporate filing a complaint for her attitude and demeanor. Needless to say, I won't be shopping at that EB again.

                          well so far it's only 2k6 that's giving me the disk error. hopefully it's just the game and not the sytem, it would be a bitch to replace now.
