Reports of systems crashing, doing odd stuff.

A guy at my job posted this because some of us, including myself have one now.

most of those i'll bet are idiots who cram the 360 into a small space and it has inadequate ventilation. myself nor any of my friends have had any of these issues at all.

Same here. The system is more powerful and takes more power to run. Seems to me it would only make sense not to stick in into a small poorly ventilated area. All those fans are on the system for a reason...

Mine froze up playing PGR 3 online at the load screen coming back from a race but I didn't get a screen like that, restarted the system and it was fine. Didn't freeze up any other time.

I got a screen like that when I turned it on with my controller. But it wasn't all messed up like that. Never had any problems during gameplay though, knock on wood I don't.

I have had a couple weird occurrences, but nothing major.

When I first fired it up yesterday, it powered on fine, but nothing would display on my tv. It worked fine after that, but then today when I got home, I turned it on and it did it again. Powers on, I turn the controller on but it won't sync, and nothing on screen. I had to turn it off, then back on and it worked fine.

Also, it turned itself off once yesterday when I was in the middle of trying to transfer my Live account. Thank god that one hasn't happened again.

Don't worry, I had that happen on my original xbox. It's nothing.

Here's another log to throw on the fire. This just happened....

I am sitting here trying to download the stupid NBA Live demo (still), not even touching my controller, and it starts rumbling. And will not stop. I had to hold the Xbox button to bring up the shutdown menu, turn the controller off, and then back on.

No big deal, though, to me at least. I expect little things like this to happen. It's interesting to hear what else is going on with everyone's console, though.

This is really starting to worry me...

I don't really want to have spent my money for something I'm going to have to send back to MS.

The % of people isn't that high so it seems on different forums. I believe no one here posted a problem that theirs wasn't working completely.

However people that have already contacted M$ said 3-4 weeks they will get a new system from them. Bummer being without a system that long but you might as well take the chance because the experience is awesome, and at worse case scenerio you can return it and get your money back.

But seeing your at second shipment, most bugs should be fixed by than. If the after X-Mas shipment rumor is true.

Apparently ABC has even picked up on this problem:

One day after the launch of Microsoft's next generation video game console, Xbox 360, some gamers are complaing that the unit does work. (The Associated Press)

It's good that it works isn't it? It also says that MS has plenty of stock to replace bad units. That is good news.

I had no problems, other than extreme lag with COD2 online.

LOL. Yeah, you'd hope something you spent $400 on would work!!

                              I liked this quote:

"O'Donnell added that Microsoft is prepared for the calls they've gotten and have plenty of stock to replace any units that need replacing."

They have plenty in stock to REPLACE broken units, but don't have enough to ship out to be sold?
