They have plenty in stock to REPLACE broken units, but don't have enough to ship out to be sold?

I would think that MS would have to keep stock for any defective returns. That would be bad business if they didn't have systems to replace ones that had manufactured flaws. I'd rather know that they have enough backstock for systems that might be returned defective than them saying you have to wait till after XMAS to get a new system.

my plan is going into full effect as we speak. wait on intial shipment, get shipment sometime in spring to avoid launch system and games

I think some of these people complaing out there, either are sony fanboys, or either mad because they couldn't get there hands on one...Like I'm going to believe some little kid complaing. My system is fine, I'm not saying there can't be problems, but people could tent to be liers about this stuff sometimes just to complain...

That's very possible. At ToysRUs after tickets were given to 9 lucky people (me included), 3 left out gamers hung around and started making comments like "HALO sucks" and Playstation Rules!". Yet they were in line to get one.

I think some of these people complaing out there, either are sony fanboys, or either mad because they couldn't get there hands on one...Like I'm going to believe some little kid complaing. My system is fine, I'm not saying there can't be problems, but people could tent to be liers about this stuff sometimes just to complain...

I agree. However, there must be some problems for some people since I've read about 3-4 people on OS state they've run into issues. Considering the sample size of OS, that's not good when factored out across everyone in the US who bought one.

It's not going to stop me from picking one up when I get around to it though!!

The problems are real...my 360 is proof of it. I haven't been able to play a 360 game for more than 15 minutes since I pulled it out of the box. Check my gamecard; I haven't been playing the Arcade games for the hell of it. It doesn't matter if the person complaining is 16 or 61, the fact of the matter is that they have a problem with defective units. Unfortunately, we are hearing about the bad units because this was by far the most hyped up launch by the news media compared to the previous launches. Every newscast down here had a story about the people lining up for one.

Thankfully, getting in contact with the District Manager at EB has hopefully solved my problem and I'll be getting a new unit possibly next week. The DM told me that there are already at least 3 defective units just from the EBs that he oversees in Central Florida. I know at my EB, mine is defective and an employee opened his up at midnight on launch and his was physically damaged inside a undamaged outside carton.

Microsoft did a wonderful job with this console...I would have no complaints if mine wasn't defective.

This sucks. I am on the second shipment, but I may cancel my order. I don't want to pay $400 for all these problems.

The xbox 360 has to be the worst packaged console I have ever opened. The sysytem is not even suspended in styrofoam. One side of the unit is only protected by the thickness of the cardboard. Very poor imo!

Yeah. The 360 is the only console to have bugs on first shipment.

The question is exactly hwo frequent is the problems with the 360 Units.
Mircrosoft has made the comment thats it only a few and it is to be exspected due to the complexity of the system. They have said they would replace a defective one in 3-5 days. This is one of the reasons that haver never went and got a new system at right at away.
