Haven't done it myself but I am sure I have read reports of other people here doing it. First impressions are that it supposedly takes longer than if you're charging it on the 360 but it does charge...

      Yes, you can.

It takes awhile when the battery is fully dead, but it does work.

I've read there's two contraptions for recharging the wireless controller. Anyone know the difference between them? I read it on one of those guides IGN had.

You can buy a Plug and Charge kit. Basically you get a rechargable battery you stick in the controller and can connect it to the xbox to charge it.

Or you can buy batteries (rechargable or not) and put them in.

Hmmmm. I wonder if the charge kit will charge my rechargable batteries?

Just a heads up, but I've heard through several places that Best Buy and Target will have limited suppy this coming Friday morning. I'd call and find out before making plans to camp out.

I just got the plug and play kit and my initial charge is going on 4 hours and the light is still RED. I'm not concern about that, but does anyone know of an alternate way to charge the battery pack, rather than having to have the 360 system ON. I guess you could use your PC's USB port, but I'd prefer a stand alone charger.

By the way, a pair of standard batteries will give you 40 hours of play time.

I used my PC yesterday and it worked with no problem, is came up with new device found, but I had no drivers for it, I just cancelles and it still charged with no issues, it took like 1 hour to charge until it turned green.

The initial charge obviously takes longer. I guess Microsoft or some third party company will be coming out with a stand alone charger in the near future. Can you check your battery's charge status on the 360 dashboard for both a battery pack or regular batteries? And how do you do it?
