Re: Dead or Alive 4?
well i have about 5 hours in with this game now and i'm absolutely loving it. all of the moves are overwhelming at first, but once you start catching on this turns into the ultimate fighting game. practicing counters has helped me a lot, that sparring area serves a purpose. i'm definitely holding on to this one.Comment

Watching Master Chief walk around like a chick is just wrong. Even with armor, thats gotta be one fugly broad, she's as massive as Bass and Bayman.

Re: Dead or Alive 4?
Yep. This was a cool idea, but poorly implemented. The game is awesome, but the presentation gives zero consideration to the non-Japanese gamer. Hulk Savage..err..Bass snarling in Japanese throughout the fight 'kinda kills his image as an American wrestler, no? Making an icon like the Master Chief female is also pretty bad, unless they would have given her female size and shape. This game deperately needs voice-overs, IMO.Originally posted by ThaGenecystLMAO she doesn't have much moves though... 60 moves is not enough...
Still a great game...Last edited by HMcCoy; 01-08-2006, 07:46 PM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Dead or Alive 4?
How would you DoA veterans recommend I "learn" this game? I've never played a DoA game in my life and I just couldn't resist a new 360 title. I've tried sparring, but it didn't really help me out much. I tried jumping into the story mode and got through quite a few levels just button mashing, but as I get further along, I stand no chance.
What would you guys suggest as the best way to learn the counter system, controls, etc?PS4: aBayBates

Re: Dead or Alive 4?
go to sparring mode and set the computer to hit you with all of the different attacks. learn to counter each one. once you get this down the game opens up so much. i know it did for me. the first few nights i was getting killed, i seriously didn't think i'd ever win a match. now i win pretty regularly. i'm still not all that good, but now that i know what's going on it's all good.Comment

The blue button is for counters. Press Blue+backwards on the stick to counter punches, Blue+forward to counter kicks.Originally posted by abates21so is there a "counter button" or is it just in the way you attack after they make an attack on you?
One peice of advice...when you play a baseball game, you have a much better chance of hitting if you watch the ball coming out of the pitchers hand, right? Same thing here. Don't watch YOUR character, always watch the CPU. Once you get the hang of watching the oppopnent, you can defend and counter alot easier. Hope this helps.
