The Hd Dvd drive should of been built in with the 360 like how the ps3 will be built in with blue ray. I understand that microsoft wanted to be out first but even with them coming out first they didn't capitilize the way they should of.

At least there will be tons of games availabe by june.

I could carless about playing movies on my 360, I never played one movie on my ps2/xbox when I owned them, thats why I have a dvd player, I could also careless if my dvd player is not an HD-DVD player, I'm really not that interested in any of this stuff at this point in time. I have my HDTV and my 360 and I'm still very happy with just that.

I'll most likely get one to watch HD DVD high def movies, especially since most likely it will be way cheaper than a stand alone player.

It is only the drive and the X360 will be the actual player.

Good move for MS in that it also opposes PS3's High def movie standard.

because HD/DVD players are not available yet and they would have not been able to get their 4-10 month head start on PS3.

Plus it is only for movies and will not be used for games.

This is a clear case of MS being too reactive. You made your choice, stick to it. Did they not JUST see what happened to the PS2 hardrive?

Now you have a 20 GB hardrive and HD-DVD drive developers virtually can't do a thing with. Cheap out in a less essential area is my call...that would be XBL...

I do both on my 360

With this option I can now (most likely cheaply compared to stan alone players) watch HD movies on DVD AND play my games all on one machine with one connection to my HDTV.


Pretty simple if you ask me. The nice thing is people who do not want to play HD movies on it or choose not to spend any more money do not have to and they can still play games at the base 360 price.

Don't see how this is a bad thing for anybody, just people who may be mad that MS has decided to oppose Sony in the HD format conflict.
