Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
Why is it outrageous? At $500 bucks that's the price of a high end nVidia card. A PS3 with a Blu-Ray drive, Hard Drive included is a steal at that price. To put it another way it's only $101 more than a 360 preimium.Originally posted by Kashanovabetter sell more ice cream, im gonna skip ps3 all togethers that ****ing outrageous

Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
I wil purchase a PS3 when the price drops to $299.00. $500.00 is crazy. The price of these new systems will drop by 2nd quarter 07.Comment

Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
$499 is not a bad price for the ps3. You get the blue ray and HDD included. Im not into having my gaming system used for watching movies but for other people that dont care this is not that bad a price.Comment

Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
Would I buy it at $500, no. Do I think there is a HDD built in, no. If the system comes out at $399, even w/o a HDD, I would probably buy it.Comment

Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
Exactly it's a helleva deal at that price, if it includes the HDD and BR drive.Originally posted by videobastard$499 is not a bad price for the ps3. You get the blue ray and HDD included. Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
Well from what I gleamed from the Blu-Ray thread in the entertainment forum it's not going to replace regular DVDs for a while now. it probably won't be dominant for another 5 years. Hell, it could only be a video game medium rather then for movies and such.Originally posted by Longhorn6Okay so maybe I missed something.
Are blue-rays going to completely replace DVDs(sort of like DVds did with tapes) within the next year? If they're not...f that.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

So...what's the hype surrounding the PS3 being compatible with these?Originally posted by SPTOWell from what I gleamed from the Blu-Ray thread in the entertainment forum it's not going to replace regular DVDs for a while now. it probably won't be dominant for another 5 years. I don't see this as any reason for justifying spending 500 dollars on a system, when I have a 360.

Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
If it is dominant at all. The difference between Bluray/ HD-DVD and DVD is that in order to get the full effect of a DVD all u need is a DVD player and a TV. For Bluray you need a HDTV and only 20% (maybe less) of the country has one. I dont see Bluray replacing DVDs anytime soon.Originally posted by SPTOWell from what I gleamed from the Blu-Ray thread in the entertainment forum it's not going to replace regular DVDs for a while now. it probably won't be dominant for another 5 years. Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
You know this is all mere spectulation at best. I take what CNN/Money said with a grain of salt. If i'm not mistaken these so called analyst were predicting that the PSP would cost around $400 maybe more. And others thought the 360 was going to retail for more than $400.
It's all a guess and Sony has probably settled on a price and it will probably be close to what the 360 is selling for. Chill people until Sony makes the announcement it's all a guess.

Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
The thing with the PSP is that we all knew that was BS. No way a handheld will come to the market at $400. It would fail miserably. On the other hand, for a new gaming console.......Originally posted by RodsterYou know this is all mere spectulation at best. I take what CNN/Money said with a grain of salt. Re: CNN projects PS3 Price
If it's $400.00, than it won't be so bad. If it's more than $500,
I would feel like banging my head against the wall. I do want a PS3 also.
