Maybe if I run into an unbundled premium in some random store I'll pick it up but I'm tired of looking around for one and really don't feel like dropping the money on it anymore. Maybe I'll get some more news about the Revolution soon and decide to go with the funky controllered console next-gen or if I get an actual PS3 price I might bite there (I'm not going to pay $500 for a console, sorry Sony, I guess you'll have live with the millions of other people who will pay that much). I was pretty gung-ho about picking up a 360 when the hype machine was in full force before Christmas, and I'm sure I would still be happy with one, but the closer we get to the PS3 and the Revolution, the more I feel like I should weigh my options and go with the one that I know I'll like the best. Here's to you 360 shortage!
I keep on thinking to myself that sometimes its not worth buying a system at launch due to the long software droughts. In the next coming months there isn't much coming out on the 360....which makes me think that I should have waited buying this even though I like the system much.

I just feel like console gaming is on some crazy cycles where systems can last less than 5 years these days.

Exactly why I have been waiting for all of them to be released. I don't get things at launch anymore and plus the "older" consoles still have pretty good games coming out. Things need to mature some before it's actually worth it. Better library of games, lower price, etc...

Potential big sellers like College Hoops 2K6 and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter already have been delayed.
Welcome to console launches. Surely people knew there would be a drought? If not, then you haven't been through a console launch before.

Heads and wallets will explode in March.

RE4 was more than enough for me to keep faith that my PS2 would hold me over through all the hype associated with a new launch. With college baseball as you said and MLB (a PS2 exclusive) coming out in Feb, I'd be playing the PS2 more even if I couldn't resist a new XBox. I'll be getting a PS3, but the price and stories of defections with the first console make it a risk at launch...

I'm waiting a few months from buying a PS3 pending on price.

I am getting a PS3 no matter what the price point is.

So they only made 600,000? It seems to be sold out everywhere.

The differance with faulty PS2s was that it took a while for most of them to breakdown,I doubt there's many launch systems still working today.
