How many are still playing GTA: San Andreas?

How many would love next gen GTA to take a different route?

I know I would. I think that they should take the cop route this time, kind of like True Crime but a few steps further.

I think the whole criminal thing has been beaten to death with this series.

I'd like to see a historical GTA or one set in a foreign city

Historical: Chicago in the '30s or New York in the late '70s/early '80s

foreign city: Tokyo or somewhere in Italy presumably Rome I guess.

I remember some developer tried that historical type GTA game that came out not too long ago. I remember it being a bust.

Rockstar North is well at work on GTA IV which should revolutionize the PS3 like GTA III did with the PS2. I imagine there will be something at E3 this year about it.

you might want to add "will revolutionize the PS3 and the Xbox 360," since it will be coming out for both systems at the same time

yes its fact. The last GTA was the final Sony exclusive GTA. I've seen many different articles confirmining that the contract is up, and Rockstar intends to launch the next GTA on both PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time.

I heard Mafia was kind of whack. Plus isn't EA coming out with The Godfather which is suppose to be a type of old skool mafia type of game? I'd like to see how that one goes. On the real though, GTA is getting quite tiring to me. Just saw so much more that could have been added I think. Maybe I'll take a look at what that Mafia looks like.

Also, drop some of those links if you can for the multi-release of GTA V. I thought I read somewhere that Sony still had the contract.......

Mafia for the PC, it was so much better than GTA.

I didn't really like it, then again I played the crappy PS2 port. Still I would love to see a GTA spin to the '30s or NY when it was a hell hole of a city.

Yeah, the PS2 or Xbox versions were garbage. The PC game was one of the best games I've ever played. Trust me, it captured all of the grungy NY and was a much better game than GTA.

If you are tired of GTA, check out True Crime: Streets of LA and NY. TC:NY is a better game than LA by a large margin. I highly recommend that people that enjoy the open ended style of gameplay should try TC:NY. It has some issues via bugs/glitches, but the game is so fun being a good/bad cop.

Rockstar needs to go this route next.

You're information has misinformed you. There are only rumors. Nothing has been announced. Take-Two hasn't said anything about releasing it for the 360. They are in talks though, they have said that much. So as of now, no, it won't be. That may change, and it may not.

From the looks of it, I'd rather have Saint's Row over GTA anyway. Online gangs and open ended game play over Live, woo hoo!
