How's the save/checkpoint system in this game? Do the checkpoints have good spacing?

the game saves after every completed mission... i'm not sure how the checkpoints work as i haven't died much.. and when i did die, it was during a boss battle in which i was brought back to the beginning of the room where the boss was.

There are checkpoints and they seem to be spread out.

Overall guys, I really, really want this game, especially with all the posts you guys are putting up. I only play single player mode, so is it worth the purchase or should I just rent it?

Yeah it's worth it, or you can rent it like you have that month to month 360 rental membership.

                  nope, not that bad IMO.

And these boss battles are intense, just finished mission 4 and that was by far the most intense of the game thus far.

Thanks Candy, I think I'm going to purchase this one. I am thinking about permanently purchasing a 360 as well here in the next couple months. I was cautious at first, but I think I'm going to go with the Best Buy deal and 2 year warranty. This game should hold me over till Rogue Galaxy comes out.

I'm having a blast with this game and I'm up to Mission 6. The more that I play, I really like what Capcom has offered up here. There are time where the mid boss battles can make you wonder what in the world is going on. It's cool, you have 2 choices..................***N! BIT.H! RUN! or defeat them which take some time and hope you have enough T-Eng.

One thing I can say without a doubt, online play with this game is AWFUL. I played a few games last night online, and while it's just not fun at all. The game type Fugitive, while could be fun, is a complete mess and horribly put together.

I hate the controls aren't too responsive. what were they thinking. I move the left stick right and it takes 5 minutes to get going there.

I agree. It's very sluggish. This isn't a game with much legs, and if it was released back in November, no one would have bought it. I see the complaints with the story, I only did the first 3 missions, but I had no clue what was going on, and just felt like I was going from A to B with no real reason why. Very much on rails, sluggish controls, and no direction to what you are really supposed to do adds up to a mediocre game to me. I like it, I think because it's new. But after trying online last night, it felt completely slapped on. It doesn't have that "Gears of War" pulling you in, or Rainbow's fantastic online play, and fun offline play.

I would give it probably a 7.5. It's good, not great, but the more I play, the more I get bored running through the missions.

It's also rather easy, I may start over on Hard, medium is a breeze.
