Re: Favorite System from Last Gen

Yeah I remember Bernie Stolar (Sega) I think that was his name. Anyway I remember he got into a catfight with EA and basically told them we don't need you and EA fired back and said if we're not on board there's no way your console will make it. I guess EA was right.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerThe Dreamcast was every bit as powerful as the PS2. In some ways, it was more powerful. I loved that system.

I would put the Xbox as my fav only because of Live. Dreamcast would be 2, would have been #1 if EA would have been on board. PS2 is 3rd, Cube 4th.

But at least Sega 2K Sports was born because of the Dreamcast. Comment

Re: Favorite System from Last Gen

PS2 had better games and a better controller even after the S-controller for the Xbox was released. But in the end, I liked my Xbox better because it was revolutionary. The hard drive, graphics, just blew everyone else out of the water. Oh, and a little game called Halo helped too.Comment

Re: Favorite System from Last Gen

I think the Xbox had the best selection of games. The Xbox also helped bring some life back to a very boring RPG landscape with their Bioware titles. I was very impressed with what MS did.

I think Sony did a great job as well with the Jak, Ratchet and Sly series offering me some incredible platform/adventure goodness.DON'T PANICComment

The first Jak was very impressive indeed as was Sly. My favorite part about the first Rachet and Klank were Sony's brilliant commericials showing real people in a backyard experimenting with some of the games huge weapons. Like people being turned into a chicken or one of the guys fires off a rocket and blows the roof off of his neighbors house. They were hilarious.Originally posted by SpongedaddyI think the Xbox had the best selection of games. Thanks for bringing up Bioware OMG their classic "KOTR" and "Jade Empire". Another RPG/Adventure game I thought was better than some reviews showed was Sudeki. I dig that game the best use of 4 player characters in a game. And yet all the reviews said it was ....meh.Comment

I got a launch PS2 so I had the sports titles. Metal Gear Solid 2/3 and Tekken Tag/4/5 made sure it was my system of choice.Comment

Re: Favorite System from Last Gen

Doubtful. A system launch is challenging. The Dreamcast had problems with pressed discs (if I remember) and the PS2 had problems with some DVD drives. The PS3 will have its own set of issues....also just as a reminder the PS2 launch was plagued with shortages that lasted about six months.Originally posted by malrakShouldn't be hard. I think you or me could accomplish that one. DON'T PANIC DON'T PANICComment

Re: Favorite System from Last Gen

I had 4 xbox's...(3 died due to the Thompson Driver's) until I hit paydirt and got a better driver. It's since been traded in on the 360. My brother bought 3 PS2's(two of them had faulty laser eye's in them) we had the best of both worlds, except for paying big dollars on a brand new system release and then the system having "buggy" problems. That did get expensive!!Comment

Re: Favorite System from Last Gen

Gamecube. I don't think I could have more fun playing videogames than playing Smash Bros. Melee with a group of my friends. With a bunch of other games that I just flat out loved like Zelda:Windwaker, Mario Tennis, and Mario Sunshine it was pound for pound my favorite system. Now, I did play my PS2 probably 10X more often because there were just more games and it was better for sports but that didn't make it my favorite.Comment
