from what I was told by a good friend (works at a certain company) is that it is a football game, and the reason why is that an exclusitivity liscense maybe pulled!

Have anything to back that up?

My guess would is this annoucement has to do with the long awaited Shadow Run RPG or MMORPG.
About 6 months ago teamxbox hinted that Microsoft was developing it. Thats My Guess.

Yeah, I'd like to hear that too.

I don't doubt that 2K might make a football game someday. However, pulling the exclusive license? There are a lot of hurdles that need to be crossed before something like that happens. EA and the NFL have to agree to that.

Not to mention we have to see what happens with the CBA. If there is none, each player is on his own as far as being licensed in a video game. Which means companies will need to sign each player individually. Don't forget either that if EA signs Peyton Manning, that means Take-Two can't. I don't even want to think about the mess this would be.

i have no proof that i can show you b/c i talked to him/her over a cup of coffee, and he/she said that the a league and there company has been talking over the exclusivity license and that in/during/after 2007 that it may be pulled by over contract demands that the game(s) have not shown any significant improvement and it is not keeping pace with the ever changing game.

-There's been one game so far...so I highly doubt the NFL would pull the license without seeing what EA could actually do.

-If it's basbeall...I'd love it, but I like MAdden more than 2K, so I don't really care if we have only madden or both games.

-I'll need more proof than word-of-mouth(no offense to you, or anything)

Apparently it's not guessable, and it's going to be somewhat of a letdown because of the fact you'd rather have this developer working on one of their big games. Atleast that's what somebody who knows said at GAF. It's probally just IGN trying to stir up some traffic.
