Dre, I'm going to pick this game up after work tonight. Whenever you are ready to play online if you pick this up send me a PM.

I'm just going to get the regular edition since I don't see it worth spending the extra $10 for the LE, and anyways I'm also picking up the Outfit.

If and When I can snag a network adaptor (my friend might hook me up) I'll be sure to let you know.

Hopefully I'll have Subsistence tonight.

Anyone else thinking of doing a chronological run of all the games?

Going through it now. One thing I noticed is there really isn't a real need for the camera, you just have to be patient and use the first person. And man is this game funny too.

As far as gamespot goes, disregard their nonsene review. That guy thinks Kameo or that Mark Ecko is on par with this, whatever floats their boat.

I'm jonesing to play some games on the PS3... Want to know how this game is. Also, does it actually include the full games of Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid?

I just bought this about 3 weeks ago, and haven't really played it yet. After the longness that was FF12, I've been burned out on games recently. WTF you should seriously think about getting FF12 for the PS3.

It includes Metar Gear and Metal Gear 2. Not Metal Gear Sold and Metal Gear Solid 2. Completely different games.

No, it doesn't include MGS or MGS2:Sons from PS1/PS2, MSX versions only.

This is the most complete version of MGS3 that you can buy since Limited Edition is impossible to find.

Doesn't it have online too? I was thinking about picking this up. My brother got into Snake Eater a lot and he doesn't even play video games. I might have to search for the L.E. Need to pick up 1 & 2. Sucks cause I let my friend borrow my game and he doesn't remember now. Never again.......

Yes, I did buy it when the game came out. Again, this is running off of memory with impressions below.

Graphically the game is jaw dropping for PS2 quality graphics when not comparing it to PS3 or 360 specs. Characters express realistic emotions with their faces, and each person in the game shows off fluid movements. There are a lot of cutscenes full of voice acting, which the voice acting is actually good.

If you played the rest of the Metal Gear Solids, this will help tie up some loose ends. I never finished the game, there might be even more to really brining the experience together when looking at the trilogy.

One thing that was annoying with Snake Eater was the camera, and they have fixed it for Subsitance. They added new things like changing your look, eating/hunting, and healing yourself. A new camera was added to this which is like Splinter Cell now. If you have played the rest, you owe it to yourself to try this out imo.

The story is nowhere near complicated like MGS2.

So this game has the new difficulty, "European Extreme," and I've been trying to play at that level since I picked this up yesterday. The effect is that you cannot allow the enemy to see you at all, or you're dead. In theory, this is pretty much what this game is all about: to fulfill your missions while going entirely undetected. But DAMN it's hard!

Question being, has anyone actually played (or finished) the game at this level? It is possible?
