        - region-free
        - free online service

Not trying to start anything but if you bought an XBOX 360 and at least 4 of the games that have been coming out as well as downloaded the different demos that are available, then you'd understand why. Believe that the size of the HDD and free online service might not be all that it's cracked up to be. Free online service is tight, but if it's lacking and lag-(un)free, then it ain't that great of a deal. Region free is a tight thing but nothing special. We'll see how it all turns out though when it's out. So far, XBOX 360 is practicing what it's preached.......

That just sounds like a pessimist view to me. Who's to say Sony's service won't run as smooth and lag free (if not better) than xbox live? 60 gigs doesnt have to be all its cracked up to be to top the 13 usable gigs on the 360. Ive played the 360 many times and dl a few demos (excruciatingly slow) and like I said i was planning on getting one. But with a hd 3x that size and a free online service its a no brainer. Then you just brush aside region free as "nothing special" -- Its actually very special to many gamers. It opens up the door to more gaming options, including from the large library of inevitable japan only wrestling games and games like NBA Starting Five 2005 which was only released in Japan. Region-free will be as big as developers choose to make it. I mean i only owned an xbox and was on the path to a 360 but when i read posts like this that just BLEED bias.....
anyway sounds like you enjoy your 360 and i'd probably take the same stand if I had one...

I know two weeks ago when i was planning on a 360 i minimized the things the ps3 would have and the 360 wouldnt bc none of it was too significant, but once this came up, all the other little stuff like more usb ports and hdmi support just became bigger. Regardless of whether or not 1080p games will be possible a 1080p hdtv would bankrupt me so thats not even in the discussion to me... All thats really left to see with the Ps3 is how the actual controller shapes up, whether or not the HD comes with the system, and the price...

Region free is big for me and has me sold on the PS3. I like Japanese wrestling games, and now I'll be able to play imports on the US PS3. I'm sold until I see a price.

What sold me on the PS3 is that Formula One 2006 coming to the US on the PS3. That game in itself sealed the deal for me.

LOL..ok so you dont know the price, whether the HD comes with the system, what the controller looks like, whether the online service is lag free but you cant see why someone would get a 360 over this? Those 4 things are four of the most important questions when buying a system and they are unanswered.

Lets wait until they are answered before proclaiming PS3 or 360 the better system.

Region free is if the developers want to put it out as region free. It takes 10-15 million to make a next generation game. Region free is hacker city, let's see if the game developers want to take that risk and eat away at their profits.

Region free isn't hacker city, hell it defeats it on a larger scale and saves developement time. A developer if they chose to can make the game region free and release it world wide thus thwarting the mod comm. ability to use a region to capitilize.

Your right, I didn't read it correctly. It appears, according to this article, that pirates can make illegal copies of the games.
