Note: I am enjoying being able to discuss a "testy" topic w/out the whole thing melting down into petty namecalling. That's gotten rare around here lately.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

It's kind of like XBOX forced me to continue my business with Sony. Not a bad thing. The variety does good I guess. Just wish that XBOX would have increased the current gen competition and even came out with some more first-party hits.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Originally posted by aholbert32Also, if so many people were upset about the business practices of MS, they would have waited a year and bought a PS3 or Revolution. My point is while people may not agree with how they handled support for the XBOX, plenty of people still purchased and want to purchase the 360.
But on a little different note, I wonder how many people/families really have the resources/time to buy into 2 or more next-gen consoles. I think there are a ton of people like me, who for different reasons, have decided to wait for the Revolution and PS3 to drop before making a next-gen decision. Up until a few months ago, I was a little surprised to see that with MS products out there, people were still coming into the game stores and buying PS2's. And I don't think it has as much to do with how they fell about MS as it has to do w/ people's pocketbooks, the popularity of the system and who they may be buying it for (why would I buy little 10 year old Jimmy a 360 when he'd be perfectly happy with a PS2?).Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Originally posted by aholbert32I'm sorry that I was off by a year but my point is still the same. If it takes you a little under 5 yrs to save up 150 bucks then a decreased game library is the least of your problems.
Also, people are acting as if this thing is primarily based on videogames when its not. Its based on Sony's rep with electronics and the bad rep MS has with software.
Xbox was $300 with games like Halo and PGR going for $50. Pick one up recently and you can get the stuff launch suckers paid full price for 1/5 or less value. Another scenario could be is they already owned another system(whether it'd be PS2 or PS1) and have plenty of titles to choose from.
People can get anything these days with plastic, someone smart with money would not get a 360 unless they played through all the older games out there.Comment
