Can you show me a link for it???

I have 2 different ones... if you can tell me if these would work, and how I'd get them to work when I plug them in my 360...

I don't think either of those are compatible.

Here is the one from MS:

I did some looking around, that adapater you have won't work.
It needs too be hooked up too a PC or a Laptop all the time since it uses special software that can't be installed on the 360.

            This would work...

            Or the Microsoft wireless adapter.

              Re: Wireless Connection (360)

Ok, I've read through this thread and I still have a question.

We have a wireless connection. The computer downstairs is hard wired, which is where the 360 is, but in a different room.

At this time, I don't want to but the wireless adapter. 3 kids will do that to you. ie, I can't justify the price of the wireless adapter to my wife. Please, don't marry an accountant.

Anyway, I would like to hook up to xbl. Is my last step to plug in the ethernet connection that MS provided from my 360 to our wireless router. It's a D-Link 624 wireless router?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, all you need to do is hard wire the xbox to the router, just like your pc is.

Thank you, I appreciate that. Now, I have to find a longer ethernet connection, the one MS supplied is about 10 ft short.

                  Thanks.

Is BB or CC a good purchase for ethernet connections?

                    It's $19.99

you dont need really expensive ethernet cable if thast what your asking. I got a 50 or 100 foot cable from radio shack so I could run it from my upstairs to my basement and it works fine. It was anything fancy. I also have the Xbox Wireless Adapter, so if you wanna try that out noah, i dont use it so much anymore

Thank you. I saw that on BB website and I need it to be about 30 ft long, so, that should do it.

Yeah, that's what I was asking. If you need the MS cable or can you buy some other cables that aren't as pricey.

                          Thanks everyone.

                            Update.

BB guy tried to sell me the wireless adapter, he tried to tell me that anything over 30 feet and there will be slowdowns.

I bought the ethernet cable that Pelican sells for $19.99. The other ethernet cable that BB had at 50 ft was $36.00. I used the cable from Pelican and the cable from MS that came with the game.

Now, hooked up to live with one month free gold.

                            Thanks everyone.

Actually you shouldn't run ethernet cables over approximately 328ft. He was pretty close for a BB employee.

And if u need a speed boost between your router and your 360, get a repeater. That will help boost the speed due to the long wires.

Thats the link that will lead you to the different suppliers, that sell repeaters.
