Can I change my vote. I voted "No, waiting for PS3" but after hearing the price it will be a yes. I will get a 360 before NCAA Football 07. Probably in late June with my graduation money.

Well just a straw poll amongst my friends, I have 3 buddies who were planning to get the PS3 but after yesterdays announcement they are not going to and getting a 360 when NCAA comes out.Originally posted by JOEdellisYes because OS= the entire world, dude they will be fine people will buy PS3 no matter what, if not now then later on whent hey stack up their moneys.
Sony has been a market leader for awhile but at one time Nintendo was too. I can clearly see a $500/$600 price point as being the monkey that broke their back.
Don't get me wrong, PS3's will sell but I think they may end up 2nd place now. Heck, even as hardcore as I am I am not so sure I'm getting one now, not at launch anyways and I was 100% sure before yesterday I was going to (I thought the price would be $450).Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I'll get a PS3 down the road, but I think that MS impressed me during the conference.Originally posted by ODoggWell just a straw poll amongst my friends, I have 3 buddies who were planning to get the PS3 but after yesterdays announcement they are not going to and getting a 360 when NCAA comes out.

Same here, its nice to see MS step up and show what they have to offer, not to mention Windows Vista, and the update to XBL where it can show and share more info and link with PC gaming is nice...Originally posted by candyman56I'll get a PS3 down the road, but I think that MS impressed me during the conference.
The games they showed also were more impressive...MS stepped up, Sony left the door open with a stale line up and more CG footage...MS showed gameplay, gameplay and gameplay...not to mention innovation....
Sony did none of the above....I wish they would put Crysis on 360, that game was sick....
Even Alan Wake which is a exclusive looked impressive...I can't wait...
PS3 will get bought down the line, maybe...but for now....MS is about to get about $2,000 more out of me for the upcoming games..Comment

Sony showed quite a few games that were playable. They even had more at their kiosks at the booths. Now they did show alot of third party software that were CG, and maybe that was because they were not ready yet or didnt have the time to showcase them during the conference.Originally posted by Behindshadows2Same here, its nice to see MS step up and show what they have to offer, not to mention Windows Vista, and the update to XBL where it can show and share more info and link with PC gaming is nice...

I'm not pulling for any one company as I've always owned the most popular consoles (I have Xbox 360 and PS2 right now) but I will say it won't make me too unhappy if Sony and Nintendo both get bested at least for awhile by the American company Microsoft. Especially considering the fact the Japanese consistently reject the MS consoles.Originally posted by Behindshadows2Same here, its nice to see MS step up and show what they have to offer, not to mention Windows Vista, and the update to XBL where it can show and share more info and link with PC gaming is nice...

thats true, thats why I'm glad MS is targeting the Japanese market, with stuff like Blue Dragon, Lost Oddesey, and 99 knights....
hopefully they will catch up to that market...
Sony is big in Japan...But Nintendo owns them..lol...they love Nintendo....
It will be a good run, I just hope sony brings out some good stuff, looking forward to a PS3 version of God of War 3....Comment

Re: Who is going to get a 360 this summer If.......
thats true about Nintendo but you have to realize they have been in the video game business for a very long time compared to Sony. So they have a strong foothold on the market over there. Sony has put a big dent in that though because Nintendo is still stuck on Mario and Zelda type games and I dont see that changing any time soonOriginally posted by Behindshadows2thats true, thats why I'm glad MS is targeting the Japanese market, with stuff like Blue Dragon, Lost Oddesey, and 99 knights....

The only area where Nintendo bests Sony in Japan is in the handheld market. The Gamecube wasn't that big of a hit over there. The Japanese crowd mostly follows Square Enix, Dragon Quest is easily the biggest franchise in Japan (back in the day, they would even cancel school when a new Dragon Quest game came out). I do think the Wii will be a pretty big hit over there though, probably bigger than the Gamecube was, but I don't know if it will top the PS3. The DS will continue to fly off the shelves though. Unless Microsoft gets some exclusive content from a company like Square Enix they'll continue to struggle to sell consoles in Japan.
I always find it funny when people say they hope Microsoft "wins" the console battle because they are an American company when Xbox production is all out-sourced.Comment

I always find it amusing when people bring up this argument as well. Microsoft was founded in the US and still is Headquarted in the US. They base their Worldwide operations in the US. So to me Microsoft is and will always be an American company. And as an American like most here I support them.Originally posted by Misfit

With regard to outsourcing. Microsoft is just playing the card that's been dealt to them. Going OT here, let's thank our wonderful politicians who back in the 70's started the ball rolling by essentially killing off American Manufacturing as we know it. That's why we have such unfair trade balances. So if manufacturing is pretty dead in the US where else are you going to get your stuff made, you guessed it Asia.
I operate and run a small business and 85% of my parts are coming from South Korea and China.
The bottom line is I don't blame Microsoft for the business model our politicians have created.Comment
