Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
Thanks man!
I guess they haven't gotten around to releasing any in-game screenshots. I wonder if they are saving them as a surprise or something.
Weren't they the main enemies of the Alliance (Humans) in the book? Besides the Turians, of course, I think they were in competition with the Humans for territory in the Skyllian Verge...Comment

Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
So far, the one Character Class I'm drawn to is Adept:
Adept
Adepts are biotic specialists. Starting out equipped with pistols and light armor, the true strength of the adept is through the upgradeable implants that give them their biotic powers. These powers can be used to lift or throw objects, shield the party and disable or destroy enemies.
Starting Talents:
* Basic Armor (light only)
* Throw
* Barrier
* Warp
Unlockable Talents:
* Pistols
* Lift
* Stasis
* Singularity
Here's a link to the first three, with more classes being revealed soon...
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
I'm leaning towards Sentinel or Infiltrator right about now. I'm also really curious as to the other six unlockable classes later in the game.Comment

Edit: here are a few
These aren't really recent and the graphics have changed but they're fighting.Last edited by jmood88; 10-19-2007, 10:28 AM.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
Not sure if this has been posted, but there's a full review (i.e. not a preview) of this game in the new Game Informer.

Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
Mass Effect: Bioware AU Interview
IGN AU: Let's start with a biggie. What is the total number of explorable planets in the final build?
Chris Priestly: To be honest, I don't know the exact final number - and it depends on what you mean by explorable. In terms of the total number of celestial bodies, shall we call it, that you can visit in Mass Effect, the number is somewhere around 240 to 250. Of those, not all of them are explorable. It would be like visiting Jupiter here in our solar system; there's just nothing to do when you get there! Wow, you found a great big gas giant! If you tried to land on it, you would die instantly because the atmosphere is corrosive… so not everything you can land on. Some things you just look at and leave. Other times we have subplots where you can recover gases and strange minerals and that kind of thing - where you can do some scanning for materials.
Then there are those that are fully explorable, that are smaller and you can do on foot and some that are so large that you need to get into the Mako - the combination ATV tank that you get to use. Again, you're looking at somewhere around 20 to 30 full-sized, plot driven planets where you're going to have to explore around.IGN AU: How much of the game do you think has been seen publicly?
Chris Priestly: Five percent! [laughs] At best. You're looking at a game that, depending on how you play, how rapidly you progress through the story, how quickly you pick up combat and skip dialogue and so on, it'll take 20 hours. But then there are those people that play, like me, who want to do a romance plot, do party NPC plots, who get sidetracked with sub quests and such - then you're looking at maybe 60 hours at least. Again, it depends on your individual play style.
Knowing the video so far that have been released, and the screens, there's just so, so much that hasn't been seen before. There are a lot of surprises still there.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
I paid off my pre-order and picked up the prequel book yesterday. This is my most anticipated game since SW KOTOR and I think this one will blow that one away.DON'T PANICComment

Where did you get your prequel book? I had a hard time finding it locally so I had to go through Amazon.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions
I saw it earlier over the summer in either a Barnes & Noble or Walden's and decided against purchasing it (had to be tight with the money).Comment
