    Peter Molyneux Talks Fable 2

All there is to know about Fable 2, and Lionhead has another game in the works.

I learned my lesson in terms of the press not to blow my mouth off every time I think of an idea.

Teamxbox BioShock Preview with an exclusive video interview.

      http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1364/BioShock/p1/

Also some Gears of War multiplayer impressions from SGD316 on IGN.

So today with the workings of a little magic, I got to go up to the private portions of the microsoft booth and was lead into a large room with 2 round tables with 8 xbox 360's each to spend a good 30 minutes or so with the gears of war multiplayer demo behind closed doors.

Let me start off by saying that the graphics are the best I have ever seen bar none on a console either single or multiplayer ever. The visuals are photo real and what you guys have seen in trailers is the real deal. I get even more excited thinking about what the single player campaign is going to look like with such stunnings visual as the mp demo. The enviroments are grity, yet polished, and provide for a lot of strategy.

We played 4 v 4 team deathmatch between humans and locusts. However, this isnt your typical run n gun deathmatch in virtually every other shooter put out. If you die, you are out much like in counter strike until the next round. A game consists of many rounds (we made it to 5 and were in the middle of the 6th when they told us the demo time had ended)with the game keeping score of whose won whatever number of rounds.

I do not know what the level we played was but it was an urban level with a lot of burnt cars to be used as cover. There was a building with some steps to the left of the level in the center which was used as an advancement points and both starting points had a perch overlooking most of the level. It's really hard to describe without pictures. Its a very simple level design but its extremely fun and provides for a lot of strategy which brings me to my next point, gameplay.

The gameplay in gears of war is pure butter. I mean unreal butter. Essentially the left thumbstick and A are responsible for doing a variety of moves such as taking cover against cars, or doing a swat team move between walls to go from cover to cover as well as jumping over obstacles. You can press the left trigger to bring your gun up to your shoulder for more accurate firing as well as using the right bumper to reload. B was used to switch your weapon into chainsaw mode which is the equivalent of getting knifed in counter strike, aka humiliation. You can also do a ducking faster run with A (like commando style in the game). They also added a depth element in case you try to go run n gun I forgot the exact specifics, but if you attempt to reload while on the run and press the reload button at just the right time your bullets will end up doing extra damage for a short period of time. You can also make use of smoke grenades in the game to mask your movements.

If you do not stick together as a team in gears of war your life span is going to be very short. This game was not designed for mp with the runner and gunner in mind. It's going to take teamwork which may be challenge achieving on xbox live but if you do get the mix of people who will play right like we had today it was addicting fun. I easily foresee this game unseating Halo 2 as the most played online game, or at least the most notable. The shooting in the game is standard stuff with recoil, sometimes I felt like a little too much recoil, but I suppose you're not supposed to be able to hit much with an automatic rifle from across a map. You can also shoot from cover and such aka killswitch which is nice.

Prior to today, I had written this title off as another unreal esque on roids space marine quest. I know different now after playing the game for myself. When time I was up, I didn't want to leave. Everyone else in the room during our session which I am pretty sure included members of other gaming media outlets such as some of the writers from EGM also left feeling the same way. If you have any further questions I will do my best to answer. This is truly THE game till Halo 3 hits shelves in 07 is deffinately going to be a system seller this holiday season.

There was this other jerk with me too in the same game, I think his name is flip360shep wink

Pics should be coming soon. I got one OK one, I think flip got the rest.

        Re: Xbox 360 Impressions

Quick Bungie update. Some pretty cool info.

We actually had six debugs all told. Three for the E3 briefing at the theater and three for something we did later. The three at the conference were the main unit - Harold Ryan our studio manager sat patiently backstage, waiting to press "A" after Bill Gates' speech. A dirty little secret was that he pressed "A" on two controllers simultaneously. That way if one of the boxes was accidentally unplugged, or broke, or gasp - crashed, the projector would switch seamlessly to the second Xbox and hopefully nobody would notice.
That didn't happen - we'd stress tested the Xbox systems and the game code very robustly before we left. After it ran though, we were all able to breathe a sigh of relief. We didn't want to run a video of the demo - we wanted the crowd to see it in realtime, on a real 360.
Marcus showed off the new engine's lighting system, the self-shadowing and realtime reflection on the Chief, and the fact that we can draw geometry out to about 13 or 14 (game) miles. There was other stuff, but we'll talk about that later.
