I wonder if they had a huge turnover at some point because there seems to be a line in the time sand where their games started going down hill.

Viva Pinata seems great for my kids but oh how the mighty has fallen.

Well there are more of the original Goldeneye team at Free Radical/Ubi Soft(Timesplitters series, upcoming Haze) than are at Rare currently so that's a big thing.

I do agree that the new stuff sucks, I mean PDZ was just plain awful. Give me a single player map that works! I don't mind corridors...much better then wandering around waiting for the waypoint indicators to pop up. Kameo was pretty but empty underneath. 'Viva Pinata', if it lives up to the 'Animal Crossing' vibe though may make me reconsider. My wife and I loved AC, and missed classes at times trying to sell turnips and crap. If it has the charm and gameplay of AC, we'll be hooked!
I didn't forget what they did on the SNES. They were good for Nintendo for a long time but Goldeneye put them over the top in the eyes of the public. Ever since then its been all downhill and their Gamecube stuff was lacking. Conker's Bad Fur Day wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't really any different from their other N64 platforms (gameplay wise, that is).

Viva Pinata is a good game for the 360 because right now there isn't much of a reason for parents to get their young ones a 360. They could use more E-rated content. Right now though, Nintendo looks smart for not overpaying to keep Rare in-house.
