I think about half the people on this thread are very confused.

Those numbers say a heck of a lot more good things about SONY than MS. PS2 has been out for how long, 5 years?? And its still pushing 200,000 units in a month?

MS people should be crying right now, they should have doubled PS2 numbers easy.

thats 200,000 per month who won't be buying a PS3. :wink:

Noticed that 6 out of the top 10 games were 360 games which is impressive which is 3/5. I think 10 of the top 25 was also. That's 2/5 of the games. I'm sure that a few are buying up those PS2's again cause they might be broken or to get some of these hot games that are on that system. Heck, I just bought a few games for the PS2 which I haven't done in almost a couple of years.

A LOT of people just flat out can't get a system until a new one comes out. They just can't afford it. So they wait until the next "big" thing comes and they buy the reduced priced "older" version.

I doubt it. That's what MS wants to believe. And if they DO believe that, it still won't hurt Sony. They're still getting 200,000+ sales a month on a 5 yr old system.

Not all PS2s break for heaven's sake. That's like saying "I wonder how many of the 280,000+ buyers out there for 360 are first timers".

Why would MS cry about this? The PS2 is 200 dollars less than the core 360 and almost 300 bucks less then the premium 360. You cant compare these two when it comes to sales because the price point is so different.

Obsolete, nah that ain't happening. You can walk into a store and buy RE4, VF:4 Evo and Ninja Gaiden Black for under $40. The cheapest equivalent ot that on 360 is table tennis. No one can say Table Tennis will give you a better experience than those three games, which can last someone years(and that's not counting Disgaea 2 and FF12, two more huge games coming out). It's not going to be like the PS1 where everyone is like man these graphics look so bad, PS2 is advanced enough where most of the games are timeless, otherwise no one would be buying PSP/DS.

You had a good point till you brought the PSP/DS into the graphics race. 1 word Portability.
