If someone really did buy a DS Lite from a US retail store it was probably shipped to Target in error. I can't see the post, but it certainly is a big IF unless he scanned his receipt or something. While rare, it does happen that things are shipped by accident. I collect Marvel comics action figures and earlier this year a Wal-Mart received a case of figures 2 months before they were supposed to be shipped out.

The person who bought the DS at CAG is a mod there, took pictures of it and posted them for everyone to see.

I read quite a bit of it. Stores have them, but some are smart enough to wait till the 11th. I'll probably check the Target here soon.

Another street date broken, maybe Nintendo will allow them to be sold early now that the street date is broken.

I just called a local Target here in town (St. Louis). He said they are not selling them, but there are stores in the area that are, but shouldn't be.

I picked mine up at lunch at the Target in Little Rock, AR there were quite a few of them. They did have the price listed. It is sweet.

Is it usual for companies to ship out consoles this early before the release date?

I mean, sure at game specific stores they'll probably abide by the release date, but at places like target and wal-mart, they've got to know that employees will unknowingly sell these before release.

Well, I found one at the Target here. Guy was fixing to sell it to me, and then the manager came out and said I don't think that its out yet. Next Tuesday he said, going to hit the store up again, and again til I find someone willing. Because they're out on the shelf.

On the way home, swung by Walmart, they had them on the shelves, didn't ask if they were selling them, but I would assume they were.
